Chick-Fil-Church?

Because if preaching Christ and Him crucified is not enough to get them in the door, simply offer a $10 gift certificate to Chick-Fil-A to all first time adult visitors. That should bring them in the droves. Do we wonder why the world mocks us in the evangelical world? There is no difference between this and offering a Christmas tree or promising to swallow a goldfish or fill-in-the-blank.

Gimmicks, toys, and emotionalism is the name of the game in many churches just trying to capture one more person to put in the pews. Could you imagine the early New Testament Church offering a gift certificate to the unbelievers in Rome or Jerusalem or Antioch?

  1. Um, yes…well…whatever…

By the way, is that coupon you attached to your article good to print off and use at any Chik-fill-a? Because after all, I am hungry!

Also, do you know if they are going to be open on Sunday? I hate it when I can’t get together with other Christians for fellowship and a meal on Sundays…unless you count the ones that meet Sunday afternoon for the NFL games at the sports bars.

Just more sewing tares in with the wheat evangelicalism from jesus Inc. franchises, such that the few remaining kernels of wheat no longer produce much fruit either…

  2. Finney?!?! Chik-fill-a sells fish too?!?!

Oh I get it! It’s for lent! With all the Catholics practicing, and then the Jesuits returning the wayward daughters back to Rome to practice Lent too, that will be a lot of “sammichs sold.”
Now that’s smart marketing to the jesus Incs.

    Thanks Manfred!

  3. Those calling themselves a Church today and offering things in order to get unbelievers in the doors, have either not read this scripture or have forgotten it:

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
