1 Sabbath, 3 wolves in sheep’s clothing, and 4 golden calves.

I was not entirely surprised to see Tony Campolo, Brian McLaren, and Rick Warren in support of a ecumenical movement but I was a little surprised to see such CCM golden calves as Natalia Grant, Michael W. Smith, Switchfoot’s lead singer Jon Foreman, and Third Day’s lead singer Mac Powell also lending their support toward this. It seems that every time I turn around another CCM artist reveals how little they believe in the exclusivity of the Gospel.

The One Campaign with the backing of these influential professing Christians has teamed up with three other religions that deny that Jesus is Lord and deny that Jesus is the only way to the Father. Whether you’re a Christian, Jew, Muslim, or Hindu, or of no faith at all, you too can put eternal truths aside to participate in making this world a “better place.”

For more information and examination of this surge toward the blending of all faiths, see A Little Leaven’s post on One Sabbath here, and Slice of Laodicea’s post on it here.

Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,
“AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN;   And I will welcome you.
“And I will be a father to you,  And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,”
Says the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

  1. The One Sabbath campaign – mix with pagans for the satisfaction of puffing up your flesh! Deceive yourself into thinking worldly good is what matters most to the Lord God of Heaven – or your local Imam. Forget that the Almighty redeems His people to come out from the worldlings and be holy – separate – so He will receive glory. Focus on what makes your guilty flesh and wicked heart feel better.

  2. This is simply more ecumenical madness run amok with a thin veneer of good ol’ fashioned social gospel as its cover.

Christ Himself said the poor would always be with us. We are to comfort them by meeting their physical and spiritual needs the two go hand in hand. It’s both merciless and hateful to simply make folks feel more comfortable on their way to hell.

By all appearances the pragmatic religionists behind this spiritual farce represent the blind leaders of the blind offering average folks and religious celebrities an opportunity to feel good about themselves and bring glory to themselves and/or their various faith traditions by their “good works” so-called. It’s a veritable idolatry-fest – the idolatry of self!

It’s abundantly clear from the ONE website that there is no room for the intolerant, exclusive, and narrow truth claims of Jesus Christ. Every religion apart from Biblical Christianity is inspired by Satan and leads captive souls to eternal torments in hell fire. Is Rick Warren who is supposed to be a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ going to tell all those poor deceived false religionists the truth about their desperate spiritual plight? Is he going to tell them that they are all on a one way road to destruction apart from bowing the knee in true repentance and humble obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ?

I think it’s also worth noting that while the project’s goals of working to eliminate “extreme poverty” and disease (such as A.I.D.S.) are commendable by the measures of natural men their silence on the subject of the infanticide of millions is deafening.

I guess Pastor Rick and his cabal would have found their fawning media coverage vaporized had they decided to get together for an interfaith dialogue and generate a collective activism geared towards eliminating the horrific abominations of the abortuaries – after all poverty and A.I.D.S. are so much more fashionable and acceptable than all that messy abortion stuff…

    In Christ,

  3. This sort of ecumenical nonsense has been happening for a good number of years now here in the UK. The biggest and most subtle danger is the Alpha course which is a 13 week long course that claims to have brought millions to Christ.

The course can also be used by the Roman Catholics and some very high profile RC cardinals have endorsed its teachings. Many hundereds if not thousands of churches here in the UK have run and continue to use the Alpha as an effective means to evangelise the lost. Sadly this is far from the truth, please click on the links below for more info :

  4. Can we really be surprised when Christian music artists follow after the leadership of the wolves? Listen to your local Christian radio station and you will find many of the songs they play are either so far removed from being theologically correct or else they have absolutely nothing to do with Christianity in the first place. Our radio station around here (WCIC in Peoria, IL) plays Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer, jingle bells and other Christmas songs in the hope of bringing people to Christ. (I guess the Word of God has lost it’s ability to transform lives!!)

  5. “If we give up our position as an evangelistic storm center and court riches and court fashion and court friendships of self-elected scholars with bloodless gospels, we shall not be found following in Christ’s train. In these days of molluscous liberalism, of self-satisfied complacency, if we emphasize little the old familiar notes of Calvary, of hell, of sin, and take up the merely tender note of humanitarian philosophy, we sound our death knell, dig our grave, write our epitaph.” – R.G. Lee

  6. Brian ~ I am very familiar with the so called ‘Christian’ radio station you mentioned, I volunteered briefly at one of their ‘sister’ stations, WIBI in Carlinville, Il. These stations are all formatted the same, and most are programmed with the d.j.s pre-recording their shifts as the computer ‘runs’ the station. The music director {Joe Buchanan} is out of Morris, Il. and selects the music you and I hear; most of it is NOT live. My brief stint with them upset the Radio consultants; I would urge people to repent, quoting scripture and doing as the Lord led. They confronted me after a few months and said they were afraid I was going to ‘offend’ someone. I left shortly after that, the Lord put it on my heart that it was indeed time to move on. I was , and still am, amazed how people would call in or e-mail saying how the music made them feel better. It just solidifies my suspicions about many, they want to claim Jesus, just don’t throw any turbulence their way. They want to hang on the their worldly things, and are deceived into thinking you can have Jesus and still live any way you want. CCM is widely to blame for tons of false converts, I have seen it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. The Christian concerts are to blame for making many sons and daughters of hell, prodding young folks for a ‘decision’, then boasting of the number of people who come forward. They mix secular music with their ‘Christian’ music, and no one seems to mind. It really and truly is very disturbing and very heartbreaking. These musicians are nothing more than false teachers who use their God-given talent to deceive.

  7. Laurie (my wife’s name, BTW!),

We have a “Christian” radio staion here in Knoxville (WYLV 89.1 [Love89]) that has taken over for another station playing Christmas music. Are they playing “O Holy Night” and “Mary Did You Know?” Sure. In between playing “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Here Comes Santa Claus” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” as well as “Run, Run Rudolph” sung by a “Christian” group.

Can’t be seen as being TOO different, ya know.

  8. Fourpointer ~ Amen! This whole CCM fad is very disturbing, and many who profess Christ defend this deception. It is nothing more than another ‘tool’ used by Satan himself to deceive folks. Sad to say, many who profess Christ fail to understand the need to ‘come out’ and ‘touch no unclean thing’. There should be a definite distinction between the born again believer and the lost sinner; only Christ can make that distinction a reality. To be a ‘new creation’ is evidence of the powerful work of Almighty God in the life of those He saves. Such a person no longer partakes of his/her former ways. That means you don’t listen to something that originated in the world by man and claim it fit for a Holy God.
It is so important in these times that we live in to be in constant prayer, and to saturate ourselves with God’s word. So much is happening so fast; please let us all pray for each other, and for our lost loved ones, as we are definitely in the ‘perilous times’ Paul spoke of in 2 Timothy 3.
God bless you Fourpointer, and all who have been granted salvation by His grace and mercy, justified by the blood of His Son.
