What possesses Todd Bentley?

After watching this video (especially after the five-minute mark) I am thoroughly convinced that this is nothing other than pure demonic possession and you are witnessing demonic manifestations taking place.

Especially look for the unnatural almost non-human way Todd Bentley’s head twitches, quivers, and shakes uncontrollably. You can also see this same phenomenon occur in this short video.

  1. You know, I used to watch those WWF shows when I was younger and didn’t know better (back in the days when Hulk Hogan still was the main man), and I tell you these guys put on a better show than the WWF!

  2. Dear Isaiah:

I am afraid this isn’t a show. I believe that there is some extreme darkness here. The Spirit that lives within me testifies to that. This is not simply a show, but something much darker, much more sinister.

I anticipate Bentley will one day throw down his mic and it will turn into a serpent.

  3. I went to see the tattooed and pierced holy man, Todd Bentley, a raving young man, moving counter culturally to the religious, well-dressed church goers of the day. Born centuries after John the Baptist, this Canadian evangelist epitomizes one whom Jesus called the least in the kingdom of heaven who is greater than John the Baptist. He is one reported to release the glory of God through the manifestation of healing in his meetings.

The actions of Todd challenged me to enter into childlike faith – for my own healing…and for an increase in the presence and power of Christ to move in me and through me to touch other lives. If revival doesn’t last in my city, I at least want childlike faith and trust in Jesus to last in me.

I went to see a reed swaying in the wind and the glory of God expressed in healing revivals. And I was not disappointed.

God is pouring himself out in lakeland!!

  4. Greetings,

I am usually talkative but after this not soooooo. It is hard to believe that anyone of religious or non-religious beliefs could sit under this tripe, much less Christians……. This is the absolute worst none biblical display of baloney I have ever seen; so unreal and pointless it makes me physically and spiritually ill to watch. This charlatan and his demonic entourage makes Benny Hinn and most of the WOF regular frauds look like St. Paul and the Apostles….

What a mockery……. God help us; it is hard to believe how far our human societies have fallen, gullible and biblically unlearned man actually is…. This absolutely makes one want to weep.

    Jesus is Lord

  5. Pilgrim,

Why throw down the mic to become a serpent? The speaker is already a snake being controlled by the worst serpent of all! And he obviously does not like competition which is why these video clips show this wolf in sheep’s clothing thinking more highly of himself than he ought to think and taking the glory away from the Only One Who is Worthy to be praised – The Lamb of God!

  6. I have no doubt about what you said, my good brother Pilgrim, and fully agree with you. It might seem like I take it like it was just a show, but be reassured that I don’t and am deeply concerned for those who follow this apostate.

  7. I was recently listening to Way of the Master radio show with Todd Friel. I highly recommend it btw.

Neways…the question posed to him was on the abilities of Satan. He noted that nowhere in Scripture does it tell us that Satan is omnipresent or omnipotent. He went on to state that this means Satan cannot read our thoughts…..and how Satan can also only be in one place and any given time……and he made the point of saying “I wonder where Satan might be right now?”………… maybe the answer to Mr. Friels remark is that Satan and his minions are actually in Florida right now appearing as the angels of light that we are warned of in Corinthians.

    Just a thought.

Jesus Christ….the same today, yesterday and forever.

  8. My son has Tourette’s syndrome. Its a socially devastating disease because it makes people very uncomfortable around you. They don’t like to see you jerk and flail and make weird noises that are beyond your control. Maybe Todd has TS and has just found a way to make it socially acceptable? Because thats what it looks like to me, a nervous system and/or mental disorder.

  9. Hey DefCon team,

One of my readers (a href=”http://imspeakingtruth.wordpress.com/2008/05/27/todd-bentleydemon-possessed/” ref=”nofollow”>alerted me to an audio tape where Bentley talks about hearing the audible voice of God – and about being demon possessed.

I don’t want to help this demon spread his false gospel cancer, but I think we who claim the Name of The Lord need to sound the alarm and expose this wickedness wherever and whenever we can.

May the Lord continue to bless your efforts in standing firmly for Him!

  10. Well, I wouldn’t assume any of them are demon-possessed, just ridiculous and think that they are part of something great.

  11. Ok, I read this blog and having been around “the prophetic movement” all my life, I have post a word concern about Lakeland at *********** (Blog site deleted by Editor!)

  12. “Believe in God and not it Todd”! Those words came to me yesterday night in a dream and I am sure it was a clear warning from God to us all, so hereby I share it with you: In my dream ( more like a nightmare!) Todd Bentley showed up as a snake, with tattoes and all, trying to swollow the hole globe!
Mark 13:22-23 about false Christs and false prophets trying to mislead us.

  13. I know ALL that is happening is AWESOME and those of you who want to sit back within your miserible selves and criticize, are missing out.

  14. petervandever,

Your linked post is shot through with rank heresy and borderline blasphemy and I have a word of concern for you – REPENT!

I pray that you would flee from the demonic deceptions that you espouse on your blog and cling simply to the only true Word of God as it is revealed uniquely within the 66 books of the Holy Bible.

You can rest assured that the One True and Living God of the Holy Bible is not showing you anything novel or new in your “visions” so-called for His truth is fully contained in His infallible Word.

There’s no new light for you, or Todd Bentley, or the Mormons, or the Jehovah’s Witnesses, or anyone else; there’s only the True Light that is Jesus Christ and the beauty, scandal, and unspeakable glory of His broken body and blood soaked cross!

    In Him,

  15. Jewels,

Something is certainly happening and I don’t think anyone denies that fact; it may even be AWESOME, but make no mistake that the devil himself is transformed into an angel of light, so let us not be surprised that his ministers also appear as angels of light.

As has been heavily documented on this site and many others we can objectively see that Todd Bentley has shown himself to be a rank deceiver of the lowest order.

    In Christ,

  16. I believe that Todd Bentley is under God’s covering. The Bible specifically says in Acts 2:17-21 and in Joel 2:28-32 that God will pour out his Spirit on all people. I do not believe that Todd is demon possesed. How could someone demon possesed preach the name of Jesus and why would satan want people proclaiming the name of Jesus? The Bible clearly states that we are all able to receive God’s spirit and with that we can speak in tongues and heal. We aren’t doing the healing we are just God’s vessels. God heals through us. If you want to attack somone who is a tool of Satan go after Oprah. She denounces the name of Jesus and teaches every one to look within for the answers and healing. That is demonic. Peter says in Acts that God will pour out his Spirit on all flesh (even Todd Bentley). Peter says that all believers are open to the power that God gave the apostles. This includes healings. And as for Todd seeing angels, There are many times that The Angel of the Lord appeared to people in the Bible. If God can do it then, why not now? I’m tired of people limiting my God.
In middle school I decided that I was a homosexual. I dove deep into sin. However, my God was powerful enough to tell my youth pastor that somone in the room was dealing with homosexuality. That is God. No one at my church knew. So I have been delivered by the power of God. If you say healings cant happen then how did God’s power touch me. If God is powerless like you basically say, then why believe in him. My God (the real Christian God described in the Bible, not the god of religious malarky) is all powerful and was the same yesterday as he is today.

  17. Shane,

Just because someone claims to do all sorts of “miracles” and have all kinds of “visions” does not mean they are of God. You ask why Satan would preach Jesus. That depends on which Jesus they are preachiing. Mormons “preach Jesus.” Jehovah’s Witnesses “preach Jesus.” Many cults “preach Jesus.” But if Satan can get someone to “preach Jesus” without preaching sin, repentance, etc.–if he can get the people to take their eyes off the cross and get them focused on the “signs and wonders”–then Satan has succeeded.

This is what he is doing with Todd Bentley. “Signs and wonders” do not make a true prophet of God.

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.–2nd Thessalonians 2:9-12

Now, what does Paul mean by “they did not receive the love of the truth?” When they are shown the truth–that the “signs and wonders” of the Man of Lawlessness are shown to be Satanic, they don’t care. They just accept that the “signs and wonders” are from God because they don’t want to know any better.

Now, I’m not saying that Todd Bentley is the Man of Lawlessness (yet). But this is why we must “test the spirits” (1st John 4:1), because “false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24), and the Beast will perform “great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men” (Revelation 13:13).

  18. Fourpointer,

I dont know if you have actually watched this outpouring on God Tv. Todd has actually pulled out his Bible. He wants people to turn to Jesus. He preached about the women who knew if she just touched the hem of Jesus’s garments that she would be healed. I do understand trying to see if these are false doctrines and what not but Todd has preached directly from the Bible. I also understand that Satan knows Gods words inside and out; however, satan uses it to try and distort the rest of the Bible he will twist the word by using the word. Many people came to know Christ (in his days) by his healings and miraculous wonders. Some will not believe by testimony and by the written word and God knows that. Todd preaches while he does these signs and wonders (excuse me, while Jesus does these signs and wonders through Todd). Well, here is the Jesus that Todd is talking about. Click this link to Todd’s site and see what he feels about salvation. This is according to the Bible. http://www.freshfire.ca/index.php?Id=930&pid=8

  19. Shane,

While it may be true that “Many people came to know Christ (in his days) by his healings and miraculous wonders. Some will not believe by testimony and by the written word and God knows that,,” we also need to remember that when the apostles preached repentance, they did not perform miracles when people did not repent. And another thing to remember is when Jesus went into Nazareth, that “He did not do many wonders because of their unbelief” (Matthew 13:58).

You see, the way God wants people to believe is by faith. That is why signs and wonders ceased with the apostles. For one thing, the faith that saves is “hope in what is not seen” (Romans 8:24-25; Hebrews 11:1). Also, because God ceased doing such signs and wonders after the apostolic age so that when the fals christs and false prophets do come along, they will be easy to spot.

Finally, when Jesus performed His miracles, did He have everybody meet at some assembly hall? Or did He go out among the people? I don’t see Todd Bentley going out into the streets, among the poor and homeless. Or going into children’s hospitals and healing the children of leukemia, burns, etc. If this is real, let him go into these places, without thronging crowds and loud music, without the buzz of a mass of people. Let him meet these people the way Jesus did–face to face where they were.

    Another passage to remember–

“A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign! No sign shall be given but the sign of Jonah!” (Matthew 12:39)

  20. “Todd has actually pulled out his Bible. . . . Todd has preached directly from the Bible.”

Didn’t Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russell, Jim Jones and David Koresh also preach “directly from the Bible?”

Doesn’t Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Robert Schuller, Rob Bell, Benny Hinn and Paul Crouch preach “directly from the Bible?”

    Just a thought.
    – The Pilgrim

P.S. And why is it past-tense? “Todd has preached directly from the Bible? Typo or is there more to that?

  21. I saw Bentley “teach” last Monday night – that wasn’t any of real value, just sugarcoated Bible-speak designed to hype up his audience.

If he’s the face of Christianity, then we’re doomed to a Bible-less existence 😦

  22. Shane says: “The Bible clearly states that we are all able to receive God’s spirit and with that we can speak in tongues and heal.”

The Bible says: “And God hath set SOME in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are ALL workers of miracles? Have ALL the gifts of healing? do ALL speak with tongues? do all interpret? (I Corinthians 12:28-30 – emphasis added)

The context demands that the answer to these rhetorical questions is “no.”

  23. MA,

I missed that part of Shane’s first response. And yes, that passage in 1st Corinthians is a sledgehammer, a battering ram, a wrecking ball to all the heretics that spew that venemous “We believe in salvation by faith through Jesus Christ, as evidenced by speaking in tongues” and who go around poisoning souls by saying that if you don’t speak in tongues you’re not saved.

  24. I never stated that you had to speak in tongues to be saved. I am merely stating that the holy spirit baptizes with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Fourpointer could you please tell me where the Bible says that these signs and wonders ceased with the apostolic age. I dont ever remember reading that, or have you just decided that is the way it is. Im not sure. Also, in case you dont know, Todd does have a street team. They go out on the streets and into hospitals everday and preach to people and heal them also. I believe that anyone who calls on Jesus is saved. I just believe and know that speaking in tongues is a secret prayer between you and God and satan cant understand it. And MA I did not state that all would speak in tongues. I believe and know through the Bible and like you stated that there are many different gifts. And not everyone can speak in tongues and not everyone can preach. I believe everyone has a ministry, in a sense that everyone can witness. By the way, last night Bentley pulled out his Bible and began to preach from it. He also took time for an altar call for salvation. And yes fourpointer there were instances when Jesus would be out with a large group and he performed miracles. In America sadly it has come to the point where people dont want to hear God’s word and they dont want to hear testimony they just want to see God in action. God knows this and this is exactly what he is doing. I agree that God wants people to believe in him by faith, but it is also through grace. And grace is what God is doing through Todd. I would not have believed in God by fait if it werent through grace which is what happened when God delivered me and sometimes sicknesses are demonic spirits so people wont believe until they are cast out.

  25. Sahne,

Signs and wonders were never performed (in great numbers) in places where the gospel was preached but rejected. That’s why Jesus did not do many miracles in Nazareth (Matt. 13:58; Mark 6:5).

And consider how the gospel was spread after the apostolic age–by the blood of the martyrs, not by people flopping aorund a church like a fish out of water. The early church did not grow because a bunch of people got healed. It grew because a bunch of people got killed.

You say that “Todd does have a street team. They go out on the streets and into hospitals everday and preach to people and heal them also.” So why don’t we have these “healings” caught on camera, like the supposed “healings” he does on stage? Could it be that Todd’s “street team” is simply “declaring” these people “healed” when they really aren’t? Like this guy? Or is there just not as much shock value in “healings” where people don’t jump out of wheelchairs (if they even needed them in the first place)?

And yes fourpointer there were instances when Jesus would be out with a large group and he performed miracles. But here’s the difference: Jesus did not make these people come to Him, He went to them. If He was in a large crowd, and somebody did come to Him, it wasn’t because He told them they had to meet Him there for their miracle. It was because He was where those people already were. He didn’t limit His healings to the walls of a concert hall.

  26. Shane says: “And MA I did not state that all would speak in tongues.”

Shane: I just copied and pasted your words. I’ll do it again: “The Bible clearly states that we are all able to receive God’s spirit and with that we can speak in tongues and heal.”

The Bible does not clearly state that “we” – meaning everyone who has received God’s Spirit – can speak in tongues.

And – if all can heal – someone should re-write Hebrews 11. “They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;” (Hebrews 11:37)

Those poor martyrs. Too bad they couldn’t find somebody like Todd Bentley to blow on them and yell “Power!” so they could be healed from their afflictions. Or maybe they didn’t have enough “faith” to speak a “word of faith.”

The Bible commends these heroes of the faith, and they didn’t even have to leave their fancy parsonage in Canada to stay in a hotel in Florida for several weeks. Imagine if Bentley had been around back in the 1st Century. I’m sure there would be AT LEAST three verses in Hebrews 11 about him.

  27. Oh my gosh.

I finally worked up the courage to watch this video. I didn’t figure it’d be worth it to watch it before ’cause, well, I don’t need to eat a mouthful of dirt to know it don’t taste good.

Here are my thoughts after watching it? (Oh, I managed to get about 3 1/2 minutes into it before my gag reflex kicked in.) Well, let me put it this way–you know when someone hands you a carton of milk and says, “Here, smell this!” And you know you shouldn’t, but you do anyways?

    Yeah, that.

This is nothing more than Brownsville Redux, trying to rev up the old “Holy Laughter” nonsense.

  28. I wonder, how Lord Jesus would see this guy laughing uncontrollably, moving in herky-jerkiness , and screaming like being mad????
I guess this could be the ticket? Luke 9:37-45 Key Verse: 9:42
“Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the evil spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.”

  29. The first thing that comes to my mind after watching for nearly 10 minutes is that not once did anyone praise the Lord for their so-called healing. The glory is being given to man and not to God.

This man frightens me. My sister’s church is very much into him and the Lakeland revivals. I pray that she’s not deceived by false prophets and that God protects her mind should she choose to go to Florida.

  30. The Toronto outpouring lasted nearly three years and was totally over with by early 1997. For a period of about a year before it ended many of the visiting prophets started to warn that after the outpouring ended there would arise decievers who would attempt to ‘keep it going. The instructive word from the Holy Spirit was to ‘Do Nothing’ religion-wise for a good while after the outpouring ends, and to study to be quiet and to lean to develop a relationship with the Lord in quietness (per 2 Thess 4:11 and Isa. 30 verses 7 and 15).

Once the outpouring was fully over with the TACF leadership went into turbo mode to ‘keep it going.’ It was into that atmosphere that Todd Bentley made his debut.

  31. Shane, stand strong brother. JESUS came unto HIS own & they new HIM not. These people would not recognize JESUS today if HE spoke directly to them & had on a name card. Just pray for them in hope that GODS pure love would override their unbelief & remove the scales from their eyes. Their joy is totally in slandering anyone who does not meet their “perfectness” & GODS word is very clear about judging others, especially those who do truly believe that JESUS IS LORD, & that HE even loves Todd Bentley, tattoos & all, even if Todd is not perfect. HE used Saul/Paul didn’t HE? Todd’s heart is for GOD & he is doing what he feels GOD is leading him to do. If for some reason he is not real, then he will fade away, BUT if he is real, LORD have on mercy on those againts him/HIM. Souls are being saved & people are being healed, so just PRAISE GOD and keep praying. Remember, JESUS said that the reason people would persecute “US” is because they don’t GOD.

Serving a life sentence in JESUS

  32. Dear GW:

You said, “These people would not recognize JESUS today if HE spoke directly to them & had on a name card.” Do you mean like how Todd Bentley in the first video of this post admits that he couldn’t tell if the being that visited him was an angel or Jesus (or a demon since he never tested it)? You’re defending a guy who claims to have had a “visitation” but yet he can’t tell Jesus from an angel from an angel of light? Perhaps the “being” should have had a name card to help Bentley identify it.

And furthermore, I must concede that no, I wouldn’t recognize your “Charismatic Jesus” because He’s not the Jesus revealed to us in the Scriptures. He’s a counterfeit false christ.

“Just pray for them in hope that GODS pure love would override their unbelief & remove the scales from their eyes.” It’s been done already, GW. The scales have been removed from my eyes and I now see the truth. This is why I have since left the Charismatic movement of false signs and wonders and am no longer on your side defending these false teachers.

“Their joy is totally in slandering anyone who does not meet their ‘perfectness’ . . .” No, GW, it’s not joy but a responsibility of every believer to point out and expose error that is sending people to a Christless eternity in Hell. To stand by and say nothing (or worse, defend and endorse it) is sin. It is joy, however, when we can help people avoid the lies of Bentley et al.

And we don’t hold anyone to a “perfectness,” GW, but a holy and righteous God does! Does “unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisses you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven” (Mat. 5:20); and “be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” (Matt. 5:48); and “without holiness no one will see the Lord” (Heb. 12:14) sound even vaguely familiar? Do they mean anything to you at all or are they just archaic words on paper meant for someone else?

“…GODS word is very clear about judging others …” Yes it is and we are very careful to adhere to God’s requirements in this matter. Are you suggesting that we are not to judge at all? If so then this is a classic red flag of someone who does not study the Scriptures. If Charismatics would spend less time rolling on the floor, barking like dogs, howling like coyotes, and laughing like they’re trying to show everyone just how “anointed” they are, and spent more time studying the whole counsel of God, there would be less Charismatics almost overnight! I know. I’m one you lost from your ranks (praise be to God). May I encourage you to study true Biblical “judgment” before making such an erroneous elementary mistake as to twist God’s Word in such a way.

“Todd’s heart is for GOD & he is doing what he feels GOD is leading him to do.” That’s the problem! The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9). See also Gen. 6:5, 8:21, Prov. 19:3, Ecc. 8:11, 9:3, Matt. 5:27-28, 15:18-19, Mark 7:21-23, Rom. 1:21.

“If for some reason he is not real, then he will fade away . . .” Yes and no. Yes, he will vanish like all the fake revival garbage of the 1990’s. No, he simply won’t “fade away.” He’ll probably end up with a weekly TV show peddling his wares to the masses on TBN. And worst of all, no matter what happens he will have led thousands if not millions into Hell.

“Remember, JESUS said that the reason people would persecute “US” is because they don’t [?] GOD.” No one is persecuting you. Put the delusions of grandeur aside. Pointing out lies, errors, and falsehoods is not “persecution.” Put that one to rest already; the Mormons and JWs have worn that one out a long time ago.

    – The Pilgrim

  33. Very well said, Pilgrim! Delusions of grandeur is correct when it comes to most individuals who slavishly follow their pet wolves in sheep’s clothing — the reason is because “it doesn’t matter what the Bible says, it only matters what I have felt or experienced!”

  34. And did you notice that GW didn’t use an apostrophe when he/she typed “GODS.” So, rather than a possessive, it is now a plural. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

I would repeat the call to heed 2nd Thessalonians 2:9-11–9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie

  35. GW,

You said, “GOD’S word is very clear about judging others, especially those who do truly believe that JESUS IS LORD”

You are correct so let me help you make your point!

John 7:24 – “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

The Book of 1 & 2 Corinthians – ALL about discipline of true believers – I know many only go to the Gospels, but these excellent books can be found right after Acts, then Romans!

A quick read through just about every one of Paul’s epistles will show him warning the church to mark those who would cause division and who desire to stray from the truth of God’s Word.

Therefore, when people like Todd “kick-em-in-the-face” Bentley, and Benny “bad-hair-day” Hinn, and Joel “lovey-dovey-feel-good-about-myself” Osteen stand to preach that which does not conform (and is NOT even found in the Bible) to the Scriptures, then ALL TRUE BELIEVERS must judge them and discern them to be what they actually are — liars, charlatans, heretics, wolves in sheep’s clothing, and a den of thieves!

Thankful for the truth of Scripture,
    The Desert Pastor

  36. expose error that is sending people to a Christless eternity in Hell. (the pilgrim)

Isn’t it funny just how we all can play with words. No one nor can anything send a person to hell, but the choices we as individuals make ourselves & by the one true GOD. And HE only does because of our bad choice. It is up to each one of us to study GOD””””S word to a have a true relationship with HIM. HIS Spirit that lives in us will reveal the truth, whether Todd speaks it or others. I still praise our forgiving & loving GOD whose Grace in sufficient & Mercy fresh everyday. HE is Just & Faithful.

And did you notice that GW didn’t use an apostrophe when he/she typed “GODS.” So, rather than a possessive, it is now a plural. Coincidence? I don’t think so.(fourpointer)
Good shot fourpointer, it’s good to see that your grammer is purrfect. I could also teach you something about gods as well, but you wouldn’t understand. I truly pray that the one true GOD bless each one of you so that the hate (that appears clearly in your articles) in your heart be removed & the love of CHRIST fill it. GOD loves you all & so do I.

By the way desert pastor, is the “desert” because of dry & no life or because of location ? Not being funny, just curious.

  37. Dear GW,

That is a good play on words. Everyone knows that God alone has the power to cast men into Hell but you ripped my comment out of its intended context. False teachers and false prophets lead people to an eternity in Hell. This is why we are warned over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again throughout the Scriptures (and especially the NT) that we are to beware of false teachers and false prophets and that they will come with false signs and wonders and if possible even mislead the elect. It’s not a matter of if, GW, it’ not even a matter of when; it’s a matter of who! And as you said, “His Spirit that lives in us will reveal the truth” I stand before you and say that that Spirit has revealed the truth that Todd Bentley is a false prophet!

And I too “praise our forgiving & loving GOD whose Grace in [sic] sufficient & Mercy fresh everyday.” The same God who is angry with man’s sin, hates the wicked and whose wrath will one day be poured out on mankind. “He is Just & Faithful” and He is holy and perfect and righteous.

    – The Pilgrim

  38. GW,

The Bible is VERY clear on who is a man of God and who is not. A man that is willing to kick others in the face is definitely not a man of God! Even if Todd Bentley didn’t really kick anyone in the face (like he said he did) then he was lying and that makes me wonder what else he has lied about (probably that hotel room that burned during one of his so-called visions). He never apologized for either his lying (if that’s what he did)or his kicking people in the face (if that’s what he did).

For a person so adamant about making sure that the Defcon men love others, it would be an excellent idea for you to look at Todd Bentley and find out why he’s not loving others.

His teaching is so shallow that a person could not grow under his ministry. Just because someone shares the gospel doesn’t make them a true believer in the Lord. I have to wonder why he is not desirous of following Scripture in its entirety instead of just bits and pieces of it (in which most of what he has said has been taken out of context and twisted).

The Bible says of itself that the whole Bible is good for life and godliness. If we, as true believers, are supposed to become more like the Lord Jesus Christ then explain to me why Todd Bentley hasn’t become more like the Lord Jesus Christ. Explain why his behaviour is more like a snake and a mentally handicapped person then like someone who is glorifying Christ in his actions and attitudes towards others. Explain to me why the Bible says that God is God of order not chaos and Bentley’s services are very chaotic!

True believers are supposed to be seeking forgiveness when they have sinned against the Lord and others so why didn’t Todd Bentley ask forgiveness for his behaviour? He lied about the hotel he stayed in because it would have been in the news if it happened the way he said. Why didn’t he ask forgiveness for that lie? The men on Defcon don’t just say things just to blow hot air! They are here to warn against wolves in sheep’s clothing like Todd Bentley. There are loads of scripture to back what they have to say.

You’d best be reading your Bible and asking the Lord to open your eyes to the truth! Of course, if you continue arguing and refuse to seek truth from Scripture then the only conclusion I would come to is that you don’t really care what God teaches (regardless of the Scripture you quote, which is definitely taken out of context). I would have to wonder if you are more interested in being able to heal and make loads of money then what the Bible says. This is my understanding because if Christ is more important then man why wouldn’t you want to seek Scripture JUST IN CASE we are right!

God can save anyone through anyone’s ministry but to base your life on Todd Bentley’s actions instead of the Bible is utter foolishness!

How sad that people are so interested in being able to heal and make a lot of money that they would defend a charlatan instead of studying Scripture to see if those things are true! I pray you will search the Scriptures. In them you think you have eternal life but this is what testifies of Christ.

Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do ALL to the glory of God! (1 Cor. 10:31)

  39. Can anyone doubt that a “strong delusion” is come forth from the Lord that professing Christian men and women would gladly – nay EAGERLY – believe a lie instead of the truth?

Have you noticed that seemingly everyone in this fallen world system gets along just swimmingly with everyone else so long as one isn’t found to be a fundamentalist Christian?

I say paint me a fundie, give me a Bible to thump and lock me in my prayer closet any day in favor of asking me to witness one more sorry episode of the satanic, occultic, “lying signs and wonders” charismatic chaos which is continually masquerading somewhere or another as “a move of God” or the “pouring out of God’s Spirit”?. An hour or so of scriptural exegesis on the prophetic implications of Joel and Peter’s use of that passage in Acts 2 would surely save those poor folks a lot of time and money!

I’m not certain but I think it could be sin to continue turning my eyes upon something as completely worthless and useless as Todd Bentley and his demonically inspired, heretical, and utterly blasphemous “spiritual” freak show. Don’t get me wrong here; I have no doubt that his “revival” is full of spirits – there are certainly spirits there. And there can be no doubt that they are of demonic origin; spirits from the very abyss with satanic power and deception over the hearts of the carnal, unregenerate, man centered Christ rejecting itching ears followers of this unholy spiritual train wreck.

    Maranatha Lord Jesus!

  40. It’s a shame that we even have to discuss these people who stray waaaaaaaay from the Truth, refuse to teach from the Word, and they still have thousands of our brothers and sisters following them blindly as well as hundreds/thousands knowing there are glaring problems and still participate in this deception.

I’m sick of finding newer, more saddening, more disgusting, revelations about Todd, and his connections with the devil.

I’m sorry if that offends some, but deception, heresey, hypocrisy, and deliberately taking advantage of Jesus’ lambs is of the devil.

We ignore the father of all lies and act as if it’s all just us, our messed up choices and sins, and God.

The Bible speaks of the devil being our adversary. Please wake up to that fact, learn, and be watchful and praying against his plans for you and your community, as we have failed to do this in the Lakeland area.

We are afraid to call things the devil when they are, just as we’ve been taught by society to be tolerant of others and their choices, and the lie that we will love them into the kingdom, when it’s their sin and pride that’s keeping them out and will damn them to hell.

It’s our own pride and sin that has allowed this lie in Lakeland to go unchecked, and the festering boil has popped, spreading it’s filth around the nation/world, without any prayer and fasting to preempt it.

I for one, am repentant for that.

It’s time to do what the Word Says!

Google “One Thing You Can’t Do In Heaven” sometime.

Listen to Ten Shekels and A Shirt on Sermonindex.net .

Work through the “In The Word” series by Milton Green on sermonindex.net . Then you will know what a demonized church is.

BTW, If you get a chance, listen to the message by Milton Green, Fury of Fire series, Mark of God or Mark of the Beast 1 & 2, he reads out of the Bible about false teachings, etc. #11 & #12 on sermonindex.

  41. I think in the end, this phony revival will be good for the Church. It will hopefully cause believer’s to be defenders of the faith and more apt to discern truth from error. Many will fall away, but I pray many more will have their eyes opened.

  42. “What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.” Philippians 1:18

  43. The most disturbing thing about all of this to me is the fact that mr.Bentley claims to have the angels that worked for William Branham working now through him.If you research William Branham, you will find that he was an outrageous HERETIC!!He denied the trinity, believed denominational Christianity was the mark of the Beast, allowed his followers to call him Elijah, taught that Eve had sexual intercourse with the Serpent-and that some humans were descended from her and the serpent, said woman was the most evil of God’s creations, said “dark” angels appeared to him in a secret cave, said all the churches would unite into one(under the Roman Catholic church)by the 1970’s,and that the world would then end. There is much more, study it for yourselves and see..A young man who helped arrange a Healing Crusade for Branham,in Canada, was very dismayed to see in the months that followed, that the “healed”people really were not healed at all. Some died. If Todd Bentley has this heretic’s “Angels” working for him,I personally would RUN the other way. This is dangerous stuff to mess around with.I once belonged to a religious cult, and it too featured enthusiastic believers,Scriptures being quoted constantly, supernatural claims. At the time I defended it tooth and nail. But it was wrong, full of false teachings and spiritual bondage. We were initially as joyful and thrilled as the people at Bentley’s meetings…It’s not hard to be decieved,no matter how sincere one is

  44. Alease:

Thank you very much for your comment. Thank you for making this information available and I hope that this will help those who are still not sure of this man.

  45. This blog is excellent. Thanks. I pray constantly that the eyes of these blind sheep will be opened by the Spirit of Truth and they will be guided into all Truth by Him and that they would stop trusting in man and his lies, false teachings, etc.

Rachel – I agree with you. I am seeing more and more brothers and sisters defending God’s Word of Truth and these false teachers are getting more and more angry because we are not being deceived by them no longer. Some are even starting websites declaring “war” against us. Reminds me of Mr Hinn’s statement which he made once – hoping for a holy ghost machine gun to blast us away – i.e. those who defend God’s Word.

I thank the Lord Jesus that He led me away from those word of faith liars years ago.

Keep STANDING firm soldiers of the Lord Jesus, rooted and grounded in His Word.

    God bless
