Sermon of the week: “Recovering The Lost Doctrine of Repentance” by Russ Sukhia.

Russ SukhiaThis week’s sermon is entitled Recovering The Lost Doctrine of Repentance by Russ Sukhia. A candid examination of the repentance-less version of “Christianity” that’s so prevalent in America. This is another great message (39 minutes in duration) that you’ll want to add to your collection.

  1. That was a good sermon.

I attended a church for several months before I had any inkling how worldly so many churches had become (I was unchurched most of my life and only had experience with one church, a Bible church). I would sit there and say “Oh Lord, something is terribly wrong here!” In the many months I was there, I heard nothing at all about repentance, sin, hell, etc…just a bunch of man-centered self help sermons.

But I also know that in a truly converted person, repentance will come, whether it is preached or not (of course it should be preached), as it is the work of God in an individual and not a man-made decision.

The problem with so many churches today is that men are trying to woo people to God, and that is the job of the Holy Spirit, not man. Our job is to preach an unadulterated gospel. The rest is in God’s hands.
