BICM Missions Support

DefCon supports the church planting work of Bible Institute of Church Ministries (BICM) deep in the bush in Liberia, West Africa.

BICM (Bible Institute of Church Ministries) is a Bible training program started under the auspices of VCP (Village Church Planters) an organization which strives to take the gospel of Jesus Christ into the interior of the African country of Liberia where the name of Christ has not yet been proclaimed. And unlike so many other mission organizations with costly overhead and advertising bills, 100% of all donations to BICM go directly to the work of advancing the gospel among the indigenous people of Liberia.

We are pleased to announce that we have worked with Teamwork Africa to get motorcycles and funds to some of the pastors we were able to train while serving in Liberia. Please visit their website for additional information on the work the Halvorsens are doing to the glory of God. Prayerfully considering joining with Teamwork Africa in reaching the unreached in the African jungles.

The Escalera family, after a year of preparation, moved to Liberia, West Africa to teach the Word of God among the native peoples, particularly with the Kpelle tribes. While there, they were able to establish two new village churches and BICM (Bible Institute of Church Ministries) for the training of pastors and church leaders in the jungle interior. Unfortunately, a series of events including a collapse due to medical conditions (malaria and typhoid – both twice in three months) brought them back to the USA. The work continues though under the direction of Pastor David Quinah, who was being trained by Mark Escalera.

Thank you for your support during the time they spent in West Africa. Please continue to pray for the work.
