About Coram Deo

Greetings! By way of introduction I am a born-again Christian who seeks to live in the presence of, under the authority of, and to the honor and glory of the Triune Yahweh Elohim Shaddai–the One True and Living LORD God Almighty Who is the self contained, self sufficient, and unique infinite Creator of all things. I believe the historic, orthodox, Biblical Christian faith as found in the 66 books of the Holy Bible is the only true and right religion that has been revealed to mankind and all other faiths and extra-Biblical sources of revelation are absolutely false and without any eternal merit or redemptive power. Through this medium I hope to share my worldview with any who are interested, and in this manner I hope to expand my witness to the lost, and extend whatever ability I’ve been given to edify the believer to the praise of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, the risen Savior. Sola Scriptura! (Scripture alone), Sola Fide! (faith alone), Sola Gratia! (grace alone), Soli Christo! (Christ alone) - Soli Deo Gloria! (to God alone be glory)

Top-Shelf

The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines the term top-shelf as “of the best quality”.  Obviously there are limits to definitions, and there can certainly be disagreements about what constitutes “best quality” (just ask someone if you’re not sure!); yet be that as it … Continue reading

Book Review: The World-Tilting Gospel

It’s not my habit to recommend a book that I’ve not personally read, but Matt Schultz of T-blogue is a pretty reliable barometer.  He’s a rare combination of a voracious reader, combined with a critical thinker, wrapped up in a sound Christian … Continue reading

Not Left Behind

Philippians 2:7 says Jesus “emptied Himself” (NASB)—or if you’re using the ESV, He “made himself nothing.” Those are both legitimate translations of the Greek verb κενόω, (kenóō) but they must be interpreted carefully in a way that does not contradict … Continue reading

Phil Johnson on The Patience of Job

Job is the Biblical archetype of the patient, suffering saint.  Like me you’ve probably heard people use the phrase, “He [or she] has the patience of Job!”  Perhaps [like me] you’ve even used it yourself.  But having studied Job at … Continue reading

Why is Union with Christ so Important?

Sometimes Wolves Eat Their Own

Fox reports that Robert Schuller has been tossed from the board of Crystal Cathedral Ministries. What happened to “honor among thieves”? Maybe Dr. Schuller can read his book “Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do” during his, ahem, “downtime”.
