    I agree with what these men did. Even if one person started to question tb teachings over this rebuke and left the movement, repented and turned to Jesus it is worth it. I have been thinking over this a lot lately and it seems if more of us had spoken out earlier about all the rot that passes for christian these days these movements mightn’t have gotten such a hold on the church. Then again we are told in the Bible about the end times deceptions. For me I will be speaking up louder in the future

  4. Its all very well rebuking this charlatan and calling him out on his sin, but we have seen this too many times now and Bentley and others simply use it to strengthen their following, as he did here, playing the “persecution” card.

    While watching I couldn’t help thinking that the crowd sitting in the seats that had gathered to see his performance were the ones in need of rebukes.

    I usually don’t comment on these things much, because part of me feels like giving up. That is a wrong attitude. What these gentlemen did was noble, and we should all be willing to stand up for truth.
    Dale, you are right, these people use it as to strengthen their ministries, but we still have to call it out. There might be one person who will listen, and leave. For one person, it’s worth the chance.
    As for Bentley,I don’t think he cares. I mean, he’s telling people how to give him money with their credit cards! How much worse can it get. I just do not understand anyone, that knows what he has done, and could sit in that audience. If I attended that church, I sure wouldn’t be back.
    Todd Bentley is a moral disaster…

    This is how it’s done? This is the way Christians should behave? By shouting from the balconies and other areas and being completely disruptive regardless of what is happening? This is coming very close to civil disobedience.

    Actually (to me) it looked like some godly men loved Todd Bentley enough to care about his “ministry” and his immortal soul to confront Todd … obedient to Scripture … by clearly articulating where he has sinned.

    When they were asked to leave, they did so.

    The model they COULD have used was John the Baptist:

    “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: ‘You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.’” (Matthew 3:7-8)

    Or, our Lord:

    “You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34)

    ———OR———

    “You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.’” (Matthew 15:7-8)

    ———OR———

    “”But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.

    You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

    “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

    “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.

    “You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town, so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of innocent Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.” (Matthew 23:13-36)

    Nope. No doubt there… they were certainly on solid (biblical) ground.

But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.     So, your attempts to obfuscate the issue cannot succeed, because you are reacting from emotion and not following Christ here.

    It certainly didn’t take long for this discussion (?) to degenerate into accusations of emotional outbursts now did it? I’m rather sorry that one of us believes that this discussion has taken that direction. But I digress.

    Nice job of quote mining by the way, but I remain unconvinced that these and the previous verses you supplied are relevant to my point. Do any of these verses advocate the disruption of a meeting or gathering for any reason? I do hope the answer to that is very clear. And before I am assaulted with the accusation that I am a supporter of Todd Bentley let me assure you that I am not! What he has done is wrong and there can be no excuse for what he has done. His lack of repentance is equally as troubling if not more.

    Nope. No outbursts (your word). My point was that your sense of offense at these men’s actions had no biblical support… and indeed was counter to the model Christ left for us.

    Nevertheless, I have given you clear, Scriptural references to the methods employed by John the Baptizer and Lord Jesus Christ in confronting those who were in error.

    Like it or not, the Bible is quite clear.

    You, on the other hand, have not given any Scriptural references to support your position. You can’t, because you are on un-biblical ground.

    And before I am assaulted with the accusation that I am a supporter of Todd Bentley let me assure you that I am not!

    I never said you were a Bentley supporter. You ‘took these men to task’ for the method they employed when they confronted Bentley and his sins.

    I pointed out to you that these men followed the biblical model for Church discipline and that they were actually less aggressive than either John or Jesus.

    Nothing more… or less.

    Actually, I was quite sincere… I was referring to Todd Bentley and to you. I genuinely care about the souls of men. I’m not being sarcastic, nor am I joking.

    Irrespective of approving of the method these men used to rebuke Todd Bentley, it is in God’s revealed will for this to happen. Todd Bentley has been warned several times and commanded to rebuke. He has been warned and with that in mind, when the day of judgment comes, I believe his judgment will be increased per the numerous calls to repent and ignoring the word/instruction of God.

    I saw this heretic in person when he came to the Tradex Center in Abbotsford, BC. My wife and I believed him, to our shame. We thought he was called by God, we thought that God can use anyone…to our shame.

    Todd should be ashamed of himself, and no doubt shame and guilt have long since been “purified” from his soul by his master. As Paul Washer stated, these men have been placed in a position as judge over these sorry fools. This I believe is what God meant by sending a strong delusion. Theses people who still follow after such a fool, are worse than he is. Who’s the bigger fool? The fool who leads or the fools who follow the fool?

    May God have His way in this man’s life and may he be made an example of what not to do when you call yourself a Christian. Those of you who call yourself Christian leaders be afraid, be very afraid, for if you follow after such as this(Warren, Piper, Bentley, Copeland…) you will find yourself being tormented in the very flames of God’s wrath as they will be.

    Matthew 10.28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

    Luke 12. 5 “But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him.”

    Yes, what these men did was disruptive. I’m sure many have spoken out against Mr. Bently in many ways: internet, TV, radio, in person, etc. Sometimes, for such a serious and sinful movement (such so called revivals), confrontation is necessary. Mr. Bently has taught his corrupt doctrine in public and these men confronted and rebuked him in public. I don’t think they meant to give him a chance to find clever excuses for what he has taught over the years. We need more men like these gentle men who would confront evil and deception head on. In case anyone thinks that nothing will come of rebukes like these, bear in mind that even if the wicked person does not change in any way, the righteous still need to speak out against all forms of wickedness. There’s a time to dialogue and there’s a time for rebuke
