Quotes (694)

We shall never have an adequate conception of the greatness of this salvation unless we realize something at any rate of what we were before this mighty power took hold of us, unless we realize what we would still be if God had not intervened in our lives and had rescued us. In other words, we must realize the depth of sin, what sin really means, and what it has done to the human race.

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

My favorite read is anything by Martyn-Lloyd Jones. I am looking for something good and powerful regarding the doctrine of sin. As he has said above, we need to know what sin really means, what we were before Christ, and what it has done to the human race. Please help me find some info on the doctrine of sin.

I am currently working through Paul Washer’s ‘the truth about man’ study, which may be of interest to you. It is available through http://www.hcmissions.org

  3. Lyn,

I am working my way through Washer’s ‘The One True God’ , what a great study – as I am sure the one you are currently doing would be :)

    FYI all –

Many of you would know Glenn Christoperson who posts comments on here….. I found Glenn to be a man with a measure of grace so I interviewed him.

You can view it here :http://narrowseventhirteen.blogspot.com/2010/02/interview-with-ex-aog-pastor.html

I am sure you will be blessed by it.

    Matthew,
the One True God is another wonderful study that I highly recommend. I encourage any to go through these studies, they are biblical, knowledgeable, and extremely important doctrines that the visible church does not seem to want to touch, i.e., man’s total depravity, sin, God’s holiness, wrath, judgment, hell. Paul Washer does not sugar coat the truth, he takes us through these truths by using God’s word. Here is a direct link to these studies — http://www.heartcrymissionary.com/resources/online_books
