If the dead do not rise, 'Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!'"

I just had this type of conversation with an Universalist. They constantly tried to argue from Scripture that there is no hell and that all will be saved. Every time I would refute his use of Scripture with the verses that are after the one he would use, I would be called all sorts of nasty names. Funny how people who only want to teach that God is love and will save all like to judge the salvation of others who disagree with them and call them names.

Very insightful video in the sense that it reveals a bit more of the postmodern “Jesus” concept. What most comes to mind is the term “anti-Christ”, that is, a “Christ” that is acknowledged, preached, believed in, whose character and personality is against or in opposition to the Jesus Christ Who is revealed in His own word.

The 3 almost subliminal inserts I also found interesting:

“…The days of publishing “hell” in English bibles should be over soon…”

I would expect that to happen. I would expect new bibles to reflect the movement to bring all religions together, eliminating concepts incompatible with the world religion, and redefining what cannot be eliminated.

“God never creates hell, men do.”

Further attack on existing bibles as if they are the corruipted invention of men, and need to be “reclaimed” and reprinted, to reflect the “original intent” of the authors.

“Religion is killing the mind”

I’ve already heard this basic philosophy preached from Emergent pulpits: ”Just look at all the hate we have in the world today as a result of religion, whether Christian, Jew or Moslem. Religion is a psychosis. It’s unhealthy. For the survival of humanity we must stop being so “religious”. Let’s just show the love of Christ.”

Thus, to fashion this new “Jesus” to the world, He must be re-imaged. The bible must be re-written. Christianity must be changed at a fundamental level to conform and take it’s place in the world religious system.

Why not just live life and indulge in all of the fleshly desires you have if there is no punishment? Why make your life miserable by working to try and obtain eternal life? I mean annihilation doesn’t seem all that bad compared to being always miserable in this life(if you are trying to earn your salvation you are miserable, don’t say you are not).

Could it be that deep inside they know there is a hell and that they are going there? Could it be that deep inside they know that they will exist for all eternity in eternal punishment if they can’t earn their salvation?
