I get it now, Phil Johnson & Doug Wilson want us to wait and see what happens having Rick Warren speak at DG 2010 since God did not give discernment to any of his children !

Now about Miracle at the River. There is no mention of the name of the hospital, there was no mention of the names of the doctors or nurses from the hospital that cared for and discharged the infant for the service and there was no mention of medical people being at the service in case the infant needed attention. The church’s website does not mention the healing or about any follow-up with the hospital regarding the healing or with the mother and infant. And, of course the church would say that I’m a “doubting Thomas” and lack faith.

A couple of quick tip-offs about “A Christmas Miracle at The River”:

1) This church has a woman pastor.

The Lord told us to beware the leaven of false teachers; Paul reminded us that a little leaven affects everything it touches.

Benny Hinn and Todd Bentley claim many miracles – none of which have been verified. An evil and wicked generation seeks after signs. Satan can and does and will perform miracle to deceive as many as possible.

At the same time, God still heals. But He will receive all the glory when He does.

Mat 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Mat 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Several things jump out:
1) Not one of these refer to the Scriptures. Obviously it’s heavy on Rick Warren’s own Purpose Driven philosophies.
2) The featured speakers are some of the most influencial leaders today, maximizing saturation of Emergent teachings.
3) “Preaching for life change” and “leading through change”? Yeah, I’ve seen the kind of change that has happened in people’s lives as a result of Driscoll’s preaching.
4) “Developing emotionally healthy leadership”? By who, Pete Scazzero? Pete is not at all shy at relating how he has been benefited by Fr. Dominic and the Trappist Monks. Nor is he shy about his mystical reading material by the likes of Thomas Merton and Abbot Christopher Jamison. “Emotional health” as in mystical spirituality.

“Collectively share an experience guided by the Holy Spirit”? From these guys who by their very association are mutually in violation of God’s word. No thanks. This is “Radical”, as in Rebellion.
