He didn’t say this, but I knew that he meant that some people picked up his truouble as something they had to go through, too. “when he allowed God” Sounds to me like he is saying that some of David’s writings are not inspired. He agreed that if that is the case then how do you know what part of the Bible is inspired and what part is not.

This book is a goldmine. A recommended read for some entertainment and to see some of the things JD teaches.

We don’t exist to “tear people down,” but rather to expose the wolves that have crept in among the flock. Jesse Duplantis is one of those wolves. And we use “the weapons of our warfare” to “tear down strongholds and every high things that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.” And we will not stand idly by while men like Jesse Duplantis blaspheme the Lord our God, and His Christ. We will not worship a god who is of man’s design, who is so weak and feeble that He can be bossed around by sinful men–a god who only exists to meet our earthly needs. If that’s the god you worship, then you truly do worship a pathetic god. (And yes, I did use lower-case ‘g’ to describe the god you worship).

2nd Timothy 3:10-11–But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.

Matthew 6:19-21–Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

It is good that you have those testimonies in your church. I don’t deny the validity of those testimonies or your church. I apologize for posting what I did but it frustrates me to see these kinds of websites that seemingly exist to tear other people down. I digress that I got angry and posted what I should not have posted.

I will not come here again. This is my fault and I should have known better than to argue as there is nothing good that can come from it. I wish all the best to everyone on this website.

I remember going to those types of churches that were “alive with power”. Women falling out under the spirit only to have their dress or skirt fly up to expose themselves, people staggering around like they had just come out of a bar or in the middle of a three day drunk, and not to mention the total chaos of the service. The Jesus that they preached that was a weakling that couldnt’ even hold onto those that are His. The God they preached that was at our demand to fulfill our desires. (the great vending machine in the sky) The Holy Spirit that could be manipulated and thrown around like chi energy or was treated as an impersonable force like the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

It’s great to know that God is in control of everything.

Come to our church in the projects, where we have seen people delivered from prostitution, homelessness, addiction to drugs, and all other sorts of sins–people whose faith has brought them through many trials and tests of their faith–and tell THEM they’re not living victoriously, just because they don’t drive a Benz. Come and talk to my brother in Christ who used to deal drugs and walked around strapped with guns–but gave all that up for Christ, and lived under a set of abandonded bleachers for 8 months rather than go back to that old lifestyle. Tell HIM why he “doesn’t have enough faith.”

If you saw the “valleys of the shadow of death” that God has brought these people through, they would make your “faith” look pathetic. Why? Because you aren’t comfortable unless you have all of your material needs met right here, right now–as if the Cross is an ATM, and God is nothing more than your personal Divine Step-And-Fetch-It.

Sorry, but your God is too small, too weak, and too safe. And your “gospel” promises nothing.

What are you going to do when the storms of this world come crashing into your home? What are you going to do when temptation strikes? You believe that you can walk uprightly and not fall into temptation…unless you have Power you will fall. Don’t judge me if I struggle with a certain sin, because sin is no respecter of persons and it could come knocking on your door too. What are you going to do when sickness or poverty or disaster strikes? Are you going to say, well let the Lord’s will be done, or will faith rise up within you to take hold of the situation and overcome?

How are you supposed to have the fearless confidence that God will do what he says he will do for you, if sometimes He does and sometimes He doesn’t or that He brought something bad your way (like temptation, sickness etc…) to teach you something? Bah, even for someone like me that doesn’t know a whole lot, I’d rather believe that good things come from God and bad things come from the devil. Sorry but you can keep your traditions and haggling about doctrines; unless you can demonstrate the power of God in your churches to deliver people, set them free, see them well, see them prosperous so that they can give, I’d never set my foot in one of your churches.

If you watch the video closely, you will see how JD uses laughter to break down the audience’s initial response to his heresy which he knows would be less than welcoming. Thus, he cannot present this as just a dry, cold teaching, but instead must make it more palatable. This being done by the mixing in of joking and laughter. And it is through this that he will manipulate his audience to break down their defenses and get them to open up and hear what he has to present next.

After this is accomplished the forces of peer pressure and his elevated station on the platform seal it where nary a peep will be heard from the audience. Even from those who may not be agreeing with what he is saying. For they will in no way risk the verbal lashing and angry stares they would receive if they were to stand up to protest this doctrine.

The other problem of course is where one man is the only one in the entire congregation who is duly authorized to speak from the “pulpit” and must never be interrupted during his speech/sermon/ramblings. Because of this and our training from youth, we know as good congregants that we must not speak when the pastor is speaking, even if he is preaching rank heresy.

The stage and platform further abet this silencing of the audience as we also have been trained in secular society that in such a setting when attending conferences, plays, etc., we must be silent. All that we as the attendees are permitted to contribute are our tears, laughter and applause.

And so we should not be surprised in the least how heresy can so easily spread amongst people who not only should know better, but, at least for some, often do know better. And once the leaven takes root in their heart and congregation, eventually the entire lump becomes leavened where they have been turned from the truth unto a lie having their eyes blinded and their consciences seared.

The Lord is able to open the understanding of his children – and even pagans (don’t forget Abimelech in Gen 20).

Praise the Lord for His mercy on undeserving people!

For those who have never suffered under the bondage of the Word of Faith extension of the Charasmatic movement (that I and many others have been delivered from) you need to know that it’s not all about naming it and claiming it, begging for money, speaking in tongues, being slain in the spirit, (fake) healings, (false) prophecies, and dancing in the aisles, sometimes they actually teach from the Bible . . . and that’s when it really gets scary.

When you use the word “bondage” it really hit me hard, but, as one who left that movement, you are absolutely right. I have thought many negative things because of things that happened, but bondage is a great word. I was pretty much excommunicated when I questioned part of a curriculum that I was teaching for a class. I asked about a particular study dealing with “confessing the word” and one confession discussed a believer having the mind of Christ, being a child of God and added –exact quote– “in fact, I am a God” end quote. When I questioned the pastor about it there was a great deal of hemming and hawing and it was explained that it wasn’t something that the church had written, etc. Within no time at all, I found myself completely shunned by everyone. No longer invited to anything that the pastor would have normally invited me to. You didn’t question.

I stayed a short time after that, but had trouble reconciling things done in the church (like the above example). Again, I went to the pastor and expressed my concerns and he couldn’t see what I was troubled about. My family and I left the church. Later . . . no one would speak with us. In fact, a lady saw us at a store and my wife spoke to her. She was so freaked out that she might be seen speaking to us, she became inarticulate and just babbled in total fear until my wife said, “that’s ok, hon, have a good day.” That IS bondage.

As a college student in a philosophy recently pointed (my wife is an interpreter who sometimes works in local colleges) to the prof who referred to Osteen as a pastor, in passing – “Osteen isn’t a pastor. A pastor preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ. Joel Osteen doesn’t preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He’s only a motivational speaker!”

My wife is prohibited from joining in on such repartee, but she was jumping up and down on the inside :-)

Paul Washer is correct in saying that “pastors” such as these are likely God’s judgment on the churches that embrace them.

I do believe that our Sovereign Lord places heretics like this in the world as a form of judgment on not only the heretics but all those who flock to them to have their ears tickled.

Duplantis needs to step down from the “pulpit” and become a professional comedian in the same way Osteen needs to step down from the pulpit and be a professional motivational speaker.

May we pray that the Lord will send true workers out into the harvest with the true Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Anybody who swallows this or any other spurious teaching from DuPlantis, et. al. is as much as asking for God to reach out and kill them where they sit.
