BitterSpring NewSpring defenders–defend this!

fig tree

From Ken Silva at Apprising Ministries comes this troubling article about one of Perry Noble’s “pastors”. All you defenders of Perry Noble, who like to claim that he has led 175,000 people to Jesus.

You tell us to “examine the fruit of Perry Noble’s ministry.”

What’s the old saying?

Oh yeah.

Be careful what you wish for:

Brad Cooper, “the Anderson Campus Student Pastor at NewSpring Church (NSC) in Anderson, SC”, has been brought to the attention of Apprising Ministries. NPC is the roost of Perry Noble, one of those mentioned in Purpose-Driven Popes Of The Carolinas Have Spoken.Cooper’s Twitter bio informs us:

clever repartee fills my mouth. rhythm saturates my ears. life floods my veins. (Online source)

And it’s precisely some of this so-called “clever repartee” which forms the basis for our concern here. We’ve come across an article written yesterday by a man named David Horn called My concern with Brad Cooper from NewSpring Church.

In it Horn tells us:

I have been trying to get Brad Cooper Student Pastor from NewSpring Church to talk with me about his comments referring to FUSE. Brad Cooper used the acronym BAMF to describe the body of Christ. The acronym is so filthy and vulgar that I refuse to put it on my blog.

For those of you interested in this relevant worldly “hip” acronym BAMF you can google it, but beware you will be in for a shock. How can a pastor use such a foul term to describe the bride of Christ? (Online source)

So, what does the acronym BAMF stand for? **LANGUAGE WARNING**

Now, for those who cannot deal with filthy language, please skip the rest of this sentence: BAMF stands for Bad A** Mother F***ker.

OK, all you followers of Perry Noble and his “ministry” that has led 500,000 people to “meet Jesus.” Please, do tell us what you think of a “pastor” who allows this kind of filth to be spread by those serving under him. Please, do tell me how Brad Cooper’s language brings ANY glory at all to Christ. Please, tell me how this rotten fruit is going to bring 8,000,000 young people to “get saved” (i.e., to “pray a little prayer and ask Jesus into their heart”). Silva’s article concludes:

Horn is exactly right when he says:

I find it alarming that NewSpring has not dealt with this in public. Since Brad Cooper used this term twice, that I know about in public, referring to the body of Christ, then NewSpring should correct this in public and Brad Cooper apologize to our community in public.

This is not an unreasonable request by me. This type of filth should not be used to describe the church especially by a student pastor! Parents, how would you feel if you son or daughter starting referring to stuff as BAMF? When you ask where did they hear such speech? The answer is,”Brad Cooper from FUSE! He is so cool and relevant to us!”

Join me and e-mail NewSpring Church to demand a public apology from Brad Cooper and NewSpring Church. Contact the local media and report this please. Help me to stand up against this type of abuse and irresponsibility by speaking out peacefully using our freedom of speech and freedom of the press. (Online source)

  1. The ends never justify the means…I don’t care how many he has led to Christ. If he can attempt to justify that type of language, he does not know Jesus.

  2. It will be a day of great refreshing to the body of Christ when “men” that speak of our Lord in such a manner are declared to be the HERETIC that they truly are. No way a person can be indwelt by the Holy Spirit and this pass out of his mouth—NO WAY. When will we stop making excuses and giving these clowns a pass?

And the Driscoll class of false prophet grows.

  3. The new, hip , cool christianity. Churches are so desperate to be like the world anything goes. Is this man christian. I doubt it. Doesn’t benny hinn say he has brought thousands to Christ. So what! The people who follow these clowns have got no idea what true Christianity is. They defend their worldly, twisted concept of what it is.

  4. I am in total agreement with Jude. This is disgusting and does not belong in the body of Christ. What’s worse though is the people who defend this garbage. I pray that these so-called “hip” pastors see the errors of their ways and repent and become like what Ephesians 2:8-10 says.

  5. “Hip” preaching does not glorify God.

  6. All who boast of the number of deceived souls brought to Christ sin; boasting is pride and pride is sin.
We must ask, which ‘Jesus’ did they bring these deceived souls to? The one who is cool, hip and relevant? The one who allows profanity and a Christless gospel? This ‘Jesus’ will save no one, because this ‘Jesus’ is an idol fashioned by man.
The real Risen Lord and Savior demands the Gospel be preached in the power of the Spirit. If you tweek the message, you might as well forget it. It’s like letting the air out of a balloon, it’s deflated and has no purpose.

“For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel-not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power” 1st Corinthians 1:17

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1st John 2:15

“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4

  7. I still have not gotten a response from Perry Noble, Brad Cooper, or NewSpring Church over this issue. I have tried every means of contact with no answers. I have even offered to meet Brad Cooper face to face twice and both times he ignored my comments on his blog(and deleted a few of them so I know he read my request because he called me a coward).

I thank you for posting a link to my blog helping to expose the filth coming from NewSpring Inc.

  8. what really bothers me in a great deal of mainstream christianity, including newspring, is what happened to the call of Christ to preach the gospel under the unction of the Holy Ghost.
We have traded the anointing of God for lectures, and fellowship in the Spirit for church clubs.
What happened to the supernatural operation and unction of the Spirit in the churches, where are those who are truly PREACHING the gospel under the unction.
Well, there are many that still do preach the gospel under the unction of the Holy Spirit and have answered the call of God on their lives, but most of these seeker friendly churches have exchanged the anointing for what they deem as relevant teaching from the pulpit.
I remember when God would move powerfully in fellowships, many times bringing people to the altar when the word was going forth, healings taking places, people getting delivered.
Well, the unction and demonstration of the Holy Spirit may not be as popular as teachings that man finds relevant today, but it is how God has chosen to build His body.
what good is a conversion without repentance, without godly sorrow, without the conviction of the Holy Spirit?
the Holy Spirit confirms the words that He speaks through a vessel, not the words that we generate on our own.
I believe that God is still working and doing a great work today in His body and I pray that men will surrender their wills to Him so that He can work even greater in His body.
