I’ve never posted on the subject of Todd Bentley, until now. Ingrid over at Slice has an interesting piece indicating Todd’s soon return to the Three Ring Circus commonly known as “Charismania“.
On a related note I must confess that J. Lee Grady – the editor of Charisma magazine mentioned by Ingrid in her article below – has applied the perfect nomenclature to the type of perverted “grace” being applied by those who absolutely refuse to hold professing Christians to any sort of Biblical standard — GREASY GRACE.
From Slice we read:
The “evangelist” who made his name kicking a cancer patient in the stomach and boasting of kicking an elderly women in the face with his biker boots left the center ring of the Pentecostal circus after refusing to reconcile with his wife because of his adultery and marrying his girlfriend. Now fellow false prophet, Rick Joyner, is helping Bentley plot his return to the spotlight. After all, what the world needs now is more Todd Bentley, right?
J. Lee Grady, editor of Charisma magazine, stuck his neck out and dared to call Joyner and Bentley wrong for what they’re doing. He went further and attacked the “greasy grace” of Christians today who refuse to hold anyone accountable for their conduct and console the perpetrator while ignoring the victims. Grady comments:
“Many Christians today have rejected biblical discipline and adopted a sweet, spineless love that cannot correct,” Grady said. “Our grace is greasy. No matter what an offending brother does, we stroke him and pet him and nurse his wounds while we ignore the people he wounded. No matter how heinous his sin, we offer comforting platitudes because, after all, who are we to judge?”
Rick Joyner immediately charged Grady with being self-righteous. (Boy, does this sound familiar, Mr. Grady!) No Rick, the truth is your protegé has no business in public ministry, is obviously suffering from psychotic delusions, is abusive to others and is in dire need of repentance for the sake of his soul. Further, Mr. Joyner, Todd Bentley’s 100-night freak show brought untold shame on the name of Christ, disillusioned countless ill and desperate people who believed Bentley’s lies, and demonstrated the total lack of spiritual discernment in millions of “Christians” today.
One anonymous Pentecostal source in the CT article says the following:
“I’m now convinced that a large segment of the charismatic church will follow the Antichrist when he shows up because they have no discernment.”
Correction: A large segment of the charismatic church has already followed many anti-Christs because they have no discernment. That goes for non-Charismatic Christians as well.
So, brace yourself for Todd Bentley’s soon return. The Big Top has already been erected, the popcorn is being popped, and the sawdust is already in the three rings…

I watched a couple of those restoration videos. RJ has turned it completely around and blames the ones who are speaking out against all this rot. These people it seems are quite happy in believing a lie. If TB was guilty of adultery alone, and if he truly repented, there wouldn’t be this outcry. He is a liar, false prophet, false teacher, leading many on the road to destruction. His followers don’t want to listen to the truth either. The apostacy is certainly spreading. I personally believe we need to shake of the dust from our feet and move on. There is a lot of people out there who will listen and be saved. I despair at the view of the church the world is seeing. It is all one big joke. Praise God He is building His true church and the gates of hell will NOT prevail against it. That is what keeps me going. True believers everywhere are studying their bibles, praying, and seeking His will knowing the time is short and the deception great. Praise You my precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Have mercy on us all
