The following is the prayer given by Rick Warren at the Inauguration of President-Elect Obama. I will add my comments in italics below a few sections. However, I first want to say that I wondered what he would say and whether it was even a good idea for him to be offered the opportunity to pray for the MOST liberal president to ever take office, and who I believe will make the Bill-Hillary duo look like kindergarten kids. What did NOT amaze me is that Rick was willing to accept the offer. After all, this should be the impetus for another book like “40 Days of Presidential Praying” or some other drivel. That aside, on to the prayer!

Many thanks for your comments. I had downloaded a transcript of the prayer and had started making comments – some of which are the same points you made (about the Islam content).
You’ve done the body of Christ a favor. People infected with the “40 days of madness” virus won’t appreciate it, however.
