Should this man be President??

We have a chance this year to make an even bolder stand for life by rejecting a man who can’t even decide if a child that has the audacity to survive an abortion is really even a child or not. At the link posted below, you can read about Barack Obama’s opposition to a “born alive” law that was presented to the Illinois senate in 2001. This law would make it a crime to kill a child that survived an abortion. An excerpt from the article (all emphases mine):

On March 30, 2001, prior to the vote, Obama spoke against the legislation.  He was the only state senator to do so.  Obama’s concern, in 2001, was that by defining what a “born alive” child was and giving that child equal protection, the law would be unconstitutional and, if not unconstitutional, in Obama’s words, “would essentially bar abortions, because the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would be an anti-abortion statute.”

Apparently Mr. Obama didn’t want to protect children because it may prevent women from being able to have an abortion. More of Obama’s own words on this statute:

“As I understand it, this puts the burden on the attending physician who has determined, since they were performing this procedure, that, in fact, this is a nonviable fetus; that if that fetus, or child — however way you want to describe it – is now outside the mother’s womb and the doctor continues to think that it’s nonviable but there’s, let’s say, movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming out limp and dead, that, in fact, they would then have to call a second physician to monitor and check off and make sure that this is not a live child that could be saved.”

As Christians, we should in no way be lending support to a man who considers abortion to be more important than a child’s life, and who has, in his own words, defending the killing of children who survive abortion.

The reason Obama is so hesitant to call a fetus (to use pro-abortion terminology) that survives an abortion a “child” is that once you do, you cannot kill that child. But if it is still classified as a “fetus” then you can do whatever you want with it.

One thing we need to remember–that is a child, even before the attempted abortion, and either way this is murder–whether the child is sucked out theough a vacuum tube, or dismembered after exiting the birth canal.
