Voddie Beats Up CNN!

I believe this video is well worth watching. I’m sorry that the watchers will also have to see AND hear Margaret (Feminist leaning) Feinberg twist the Scriptures. Excellent job standing for the truth, Pastor Voddie!

I’m real close to moving my family to Grace Family Baptist, where Vodie is one of the elders. His passion for the Word, expository preaching, and Biblical approach to the local gathering are refreshing.

  2. Charoky says:

That was the clearest, most powerful response for the true Gospel I have ever heard from a pastor on Television. That was breathtaking! I am sure that anyone watching, Christian or not, found that to be inspiring. Proof once again that people want to follow a leader with principles and an unwavering understanding of the truth!

  3. Ann-Elise says:

Amen Pastor Voddie! We need more men who know the Scriptures, stand by them and do not bend them for popularity or perceived relevance.

Thanks for posting this excellent video.

  4. keith says:

Don’t be sorry that we have to listen to the other point of view. That is what gave Voddie a platform to say so excellently what the scriptures has to say. His point on Debra was well spoken.

  5. Isaiah says:

I cringed when Margaret said that Voddie is a little questionable… you, lady, you are twisting Scripture to support your agenda, and you call Voddie questionable!? Puh-lease…

Voddie sure chastised her well and good!

  6. I applaud Mr Baucham for sticking to the Word!

However, as a working class woman whose husband suffers from illness, I have to work (albeit part time at the moment) in order for the household to survive… what say ye?

  7. Manfred says:

Last Sunday (14 Dec) was our first visit to what I (sbrogden) and my wife pray will be a long and spiritually fruitful relationship with Grace Family Baptist Church, where Voddie and another called servant/elder preach Truth. My soul rejoices!

What about Mary Magdalene, Lydia, single women?

  9. Jason Ebright says:

Just saw this for the first time.

    Way to go Voddie!

I’m so tired of people spouting out garbage about “translation”. It’s just another excuse for people to live their lives how THEY want and not submitting to GOD’s law.

God tells us to not lean on our own understanding for a reason and this whole “progressive” movement is on the front line of those who DO lean of their own understanding.

Isn’t it funny how someone can completely dominate a conversation by simply standing strong on the inerrant Word of God!

I was priviledged enough to see Voddie speak at the 2009 Antioch Bible Church men’s retreat near Seattle, WA and I’ll never forget him. He changed my life that weekend.

Margaret Feinberg just got hit by the biblical ‘freight train’!

    Nicely done Pastor Voddie, sir!!!

  11. Cici says:

Wives are to submit to their own husbands, not to pastors on CNN. Clearly Todd Palin supports his wife’s ambitions, thus Baucham has no right to usurp Todd’s headship in his marriage. This is precisely why so many men don’t like going to church.

  12. RGF says:

Watching the video prompted me to look up this guy’s website and blogs and what I noticed is the belief that both Sarah and Todd Palin are in sin by her even being a governor.

His argument is based on the the supposition that since Sarah was running a state, that Todd was not the head of his household. His other argument is that married mothers shouldn’t be working outside the home at all, because that would, by definition, be neglecting her home.

Let me tell you my take: I work evenings, my wife works during the day, and we have 2 children. We made a commitment early on to not have strangers raise our children; hence, one of us is always there. We also looked at our household incomes and career opportunities and made the decision that her job would be the primary one. I still work, but it’s not the primary household income.

This took a LOT of pride-breaking on my part, and the Lord had to break my ego down to the point where I had to realize and accept that being head of the family means making the decisions that are best for the family, and my selfish desire to be the money maker had to be subservient – and this was a lot harder than it sounds.

Still, we keep our roles clear as defined by the Bible. I am still the head of the household, and she is in charge of the domestic duties, and her work has never interfered with being a mother.

Except for the cooking; I do the cooking because the cook decides what gets eaten. :-)

  13. The Pilgrim says:

    Dear RGF:

There are instances in life in which the ideal dynamic of a mother remaining at home raising the children cannot work. But these should be the exceptions to the rule, not the norm. Sadly, when it comes to this, black is white and up is down, and the local church should be helping but can nowhere be found.

    Dear CiCi:

    You said,

“Wives are to submit to their own husbands, not to pastors on CNN. Clearly Todd Palin supports his wife’s ambitions, thus Baucham has no right to usurp Todd’s headship in his marriage. This is precisely why so many men don’t like going to church.”

Voddie never asked anyone’s wife to submit to him. That was an unfair attack of him. If you don’t like the message, deal with that, but please don’t demean the messenger. It’s not Voddie that usurps, it’s that (highly offensive) Word of God that usurps, divides, disrupts, cuts, and convicts. As Voddie says, he doesn’t write the mail, he just delivers it. So your issue is with God and His idea of the family and their roles, not with Voddie who lives by that standard and encourages others to do so.

And finally, this is NOT why so many men don’t like going to church. It’s the very opposite: the Western church has become effeminate, emasculated, and preaches a wishy washy, candy coated, Christless gospel of self-esteem. If preachers got back to preaching the pure and hard truths of Scripture again, they’d have more men in their churches. Instead they resort to programs and gimmicks, all of which fail because God is not in it.

  14. Manfred says:

    Pilgrim,

Your closing paragraph is indeed the bottom line. Having spent 20-odd years in program oriented churches that had few men active – despite having programs for men – and being part of those programs that were to reach men, I’ve come to rest on the Word of God. It is sufficient for all instruction for life in Christ and godly living in this present age. Sola Scriptura is NOT just a distant echo of dead men – it the heart beat of the church of the living God.

Having spent two years in a church with virtually no programs, yet one that seeks to exalt Christ in all things, proclaiming His sufficiency and the Truth of His Word, I now see what men look like when they are changed by God and not merely influenced by a program. Too many churches settle for behavior modification, as long as the cash flow is healthy. They should settle for nothing less than Christ and the power that raised Him from the dead making sinful men new creatures. If Christ be not preached, there is no reason for church to meet. Christians need the gospel as much as spiritually dead men do.

I will shut up now, as I could go on and on and on about this.
