Dean,

Salvation has nothing to do with works. Try reading Eph. 2:8-9,16 for starters. How about several others that give only one condition for salvation, and that is to believe in Christ as one's savior?
John 3:16, 36;5:24;6:47;20:31.
Acts 10:43;16:31
Rom. 1:16;3:22,25; 4:4-5;10:9;11:6;
1 Cor. 15:2 contrasted with 1:17
Gal. 3:22
Philippians 3:9
2 Tim.1:9-10
Titus 3:5
et al

We do our works because we are saved, not to be saved. God says our works are as dirty menstrual cloths (Is. 64:6 literally)Scripture says we inherit eternal life. An inheritance is a gift, not something earned.

You have only false prophets. Look at the "fruits" of Joseph Smith, e.g. He was a necromancer, and adulterer as well as being very promiscuous (he got a "revelation" on polygamy to cover his tracks), robbed his people with his false banking system, had at least 50 false prophecies, etc.

How can you testify that the BOM is true? What is your empirical evidence? Did God speak to you? Is there any historical evidence besides Smith's word? Is there any geographical evidence, archaeological evidence? NO to all.

God has already told us the truth. God has already given us the Gospel. Why should anyone pray to know if the BOM is true when the evidence is that it contradicts the Bible which has been proven to be true? Should we pray to God to ask if it is okay to worship another God when He has already told us the answer? Should we pray to ask God if adultery is okay when He has already given us the answer?

I testify to you that the BOM is false and that Joseph Smith is a false prophet. Can you deny my testimony? My testimony is true and is why I left the Mormon Church in 1972.

I would just be careful of saying the lord saves me just by my accepting him and it has nothing to do with my works. That at the great and judgement day you don't say to the Lord I accepted you Lord as my savior.. and he may say :you never knew me..Depart from me ye that work iniquity. This is to me the kind of debate that needs a living prophets to settle and why... because where there is no prophet the people perish. And as paul said in the last days men will be ever learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Look at the fruits of the living prophets and apostles and you will see that by their fruits you can know them as true prophets and apostles and their work for good is spreading rapidly over all the earth. you can continue to denagrate the doctrine and fight again'st it. Or truly read the Book Of Mormon and ask God if it is true. I testify that it is in the Name of Jesus Christ Amen
