Instead of a battle for the minds of true believers, Christianity was reduced to mere emotions and was done at the expense of truth. Most of what is being sung is done because it “sounds good” or “it makes me feel good about my walk with God.” Now, we no longer (or very rarely) have hymns written with the purpose of teaching correct biblical doctrine. In fact, biblical doctrine has little to do with style or content.
