I’m afraid you misread the post. The quotes contained by the questionable authors is courtesy of Lighthouse Trails Research based on their research into LifeWay Stores, the quotes aren’t attributed to Lighthouse Trails nor is it suggested that Lighthouse Trails is the bookseller, but rather LifeWay.

You state that Lighthouse Trails sells the books of the authors whose quote you present. I checked there site and they do not sell those books. In fact I’ve been going to there site for years and they have been fighting AGAINST the teachings of these false teachers for years.

They have consistently and accurately defended the faith AGAINST the likes of Warren, Blanchard, McManus – not promoted it!

Thanks for the read! Found this page because I searched for info on Richard Foster.
That was since today at sunday service in my church, the preacher choose to enthusiastically cite from a book Richard Foster wrote (I forgot the title). Had a weak memory of having found before that this man (RF) is not the best to cite, and now I see that my misgivings was justified, sorrily…

Hey, I ‘m just reading this in 2011, after researching the author of Soul Cravings b/c the video was a preview on a Christian Movie (fictional) I rented from Netflix. I goggled the author & “pastor” of Mosaic Church in Calif to find more. It did not sit right with me. I use to be heavily involved in New Age & I believe the Lord uses me Apologetically often in regards to False Teachings, etc. It seems the New Age has increasingly become a part of the Church. Its almost scary b/c we know we are really now in those times as shared in Revelation. I wanted to respond to: Paul’s question posted back in August 24, 2008 at 11:51 am: “Just wondering what was wrong with Brother Lawrence’s statement ? I’m honestly asking…”
I hope you got your answers. I’m not sure if I understand your question but I can tell you beware of anyone who does not say truth of what Jesus says that He is the only way to God” It use to be clear that Christians for the most part believed this basic doctrine…but now false teachers claim to be Christian but do not support this. Therefore if they profess different paths lead to God…it’s New Age! When I was in New Age,& God I’m sure delivered me out of it so that I can warn & help Christians leave…glory to the LORD! While in it, some terms Christians used (for example amen was used by Wiccans/Witches, Meditation was used but it was not mediating on the God of the Bible in thinking on His word but a ceremony pagans used to contact evil spirits that called themselves ascended masters, etc). Believe in Jesus & receive Him as Savior & Lord, read His word & study & follow Him…He will see you through. If anyone comes to you that encourage s& embraces false teaching then leave whatever rest he or she has to say & run away from them. Study the word & prayerfully seek a Bible believing, Teaching & Exercising Church…but you must know the Word of God for yourself. Hey… You know, I grew up in a Pentecostal Denominational Church – later I was part of one of the large pentecostal revivals the swept across the nations a little more than 10 years ago… and God used those things in my life – in fact I am a full time missionary today as a result of what God did in my life during those years… NEVERTHELESS – since coming to Mexico 5 years ago I have since connected with a church that while “pentecostal” differs so much from what I have learned all my life. This place ACTUALLY places the total emphasis and focus ON THE WORD… and getting into the bible (and out of the simple experience) I realize how unbiblical and even extra biblical so much of what I used to embrace really was and is. I would consider myself this christian extremist you write about. You see, we have exchanged the word for feeling, and sound biblical teaching for “prophetic relevance” or whatever. You see, until we really get into the word and the word gets into us… We WILL begin to experience the feelings – but when we pursue the “movement” outside of the word – we so fall into error it is dangerous. I will end my ranting and raving now – but hey… I really enjoyed your post. Everything you said is SO true. Thank you

Would it not be absolutely true that dinner is intended to be served at that dinner party? Or that I/you and my/your neighbors would expect dinner to be served? Wake up and realize that the absolute truth about the point you tried to make, is foolishness and nonsense. Unfortunately, you will probably never read this. What a shame.

Just wondering what was wrong with Brother Lawrence’s statement ? I’m honestly asking since if he was just hearing from God and dancing around like David talked about in the Psalms then I don’t see the problem? I may have misinterpreted it though!

Also, is Mike Yaconelli’s statment wrong theologically because he said “sacred word” because Meditation as referred to in Psalms 1 means : to reflect, to moan, to mutter, to ponder…Strongs #1897

Not trying to argue the point as much as bring clarity since I’m just learning more about the “Emergent” beliefs. :)

Spot on, Sherry C! We can’t expect for the church to build bridges to the world and the influence be one way only, and such an expectation isn’t even scriptural in the first place! Be ye separate!
