Defending Contending post featured on Way of the Master Radio.

Todd Friel of Way of the Master Radio read a portion of How Do You Read Romans 1:16? on air on Wednesday, August 6th.

Sadly, he failed to make any mention of where it was from, but it was still great to hear him read it anyway.

For those interested in listening to it, click here. It starts around 4:26 into the broadcast.

  1. Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

    A. “Paul” History of, Acts 7:58; 8:1-3; 9:1-30; 11:25-30′ 12:25; 13:1-28;31 Gal. 1; Phil. 3; Tim. 1; 2Cor. 11-12. His name heads all of his epistles except Hebrews

    B. “servant” Gr. doulos, bond-slave; one who is the entire property of another.

    C. “called” Gr. kletos, called. Here, called to an office and divinely selected and appointed to fill it (Rom. 1:1; 1 Cor. 1:1; Gal. 1;15)

    D. “an” Br. apostolos

    E. “seperated” Gr. aphoridzo, set apart. Trans. separate, divide and sever
    3 stages of Paul’s separation:
    1. At birth. In God’s mind (Gal. 1;15-16)
    2. At conversion. from Judaism to the gospel (Acts 9;15-16; 1 Tim. 1:15-16)
    3. At his commission, from secular work to the work of Gos (Acts 13:2; 26:16-18; 1 Tim. 1:11:-12)

    F. “the”The gospel of God ……

  2. I almost couldn’t get past the crap at the start of the clip, all that “Make Me A Christian” nonsense–did you hear the panel that is supposed to lead these people to Christ? They won’t get any closer to the truth than if Anton LeVay was hosting it. Then there was the “inflatable church” and that idiot congressman from Nebraska.

What kind of upsets(?) me is that they didn’t even mention that it came from any website. I’m not gonna kick and scream about it (and I doubt Pilgrim will either), but it almost sounded as if they were passing it off as their own. That sounds like a violation of their TOS agreement with their broadcast provider. I think a strongly-worded email is in order here!
