Ahaz burned his children in the fires of Molech. Today we suck them out of the womb. And just as God allowed that nation to eventually go into captivity because they forsook the LORD, so not think for a moment He won’t do the same for us.

Honestly i think the word punishment is the worst appropriate for the concept Obama wanted to expose. And is not just a matter of not taking the consequences of our mistakes (rather than sin..). Living must be learning from past mistakes.
But we have to not forget the consequences of a wrong choice on a defenceless life. If a baby is unwanted, remains unwanted for all is life with great damage to their psycological and spiritual development.

And about the leader you deserve (i’m Italian) i thought the same when Bush was re-elected (and when Berlusconi was re-elected for the fourth time..).
Do you really believe them as the saviour of our countries and defenders of our christian values..?? (with all their corruption – in money issues not soul, war , eco-crimes, and with thei absolute disinterest in the conditions of the lowest levels of our societies!??)

Thank you all for your comments.

I understand that due to the nature of the post, “fathers” was interpreted by some of you to mean the forefathers of our nation. This, however, was not my intended meaning of the term, otherwise I would have penned “forefathers,” “nation’s fathers,” “founding fathers” or something of the like.

My intended meaning was specifically a generalized generational reference; as in those before us, or those who went before us.

Sorry for any misinterpretations, misunderstandings or confusion this may have caused.

We have much to repent of, mainly pride. It’s in everything we say, do and think. Our military is the finest ever assembled. We could feed the world-literally-with our food production system. We have the best economy ever seen in all the world and the rest of the world rides the wave to prosperity. Our scientific ability is envied and copied throughout the world. There is nothing we cannot do if we put our mind to it.
All of this, as fine as it may be, will lead to our downfall because we are an unthankful nation. Unthankful to the point that we have no use for the God of scripture whatsoever. All He is to us as a nation is someone to bail us out of trouble. Having a broken and contrite spirit before Him is the furtherest thing from our mind. Sadly, this is also true for most of those who sit in a pew on Sunday.
“And if judgement begin at the house of God, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?” Ever wonder why there are so many false teachers and false doctrines these days? How about the seemingly shrinking number of faithful prophets who are not ashamed of the Gospel and the Lord Jesus Christ?

Judgement? It must come or God has changed.

well I quoted from the beginning of the post, underneath the photo of the infant.

I think it would be wise to go back farther because the ‘fathers’ of this nation were all Masons, whose god is Lucifer, while the God of Israel is the God it seems Americans have long since forgotten. The God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. :-)

Which “fathers” would that be? Could that be Thomas Jefferson (and some of the others) who did not believe in the deity of Christ or the resurrection and made his own New Testament (sounds like an Emergent). America has had unequally yoked, rotten fruit from the beginning.

Now if we could only get Christians to get off their “selective sin” high horse and get angry about the blasphemy of God, no love for the Lord (violation of the first commandment), taking the Lord’s name in vain…adultery, fornication, covetousness, etc, etc…

Yes, God will give America the president she deserves, and Christian’s need to see that the wrath of God is already on the nation for violation of the first commandment. For as Romans 1 states, it starts with a wrong view of God before man falls into perverse lifestyles and no natural love (abortion).

Over 70% of American’s believe there are many “roads” to God (to include over 50% of traditional evangelicals according to the latest PEW study), and God has given them a President that agrees with them, George W. Bush.

A very good post. I agree with you. However, There are still good and righteous people left here in America with family values and morals. I submit that they may even still be in the majority but the media and Hollywood certainly don’t want to reveal that fact. The problem is that too often our nation allows the minority to rule the majority. The evil voices try to drown us out. It’s up to us to stand up and let our votes and our voices be heard loud and clear.

Isn’t it amazing that Obama doesn’t want his child to pay the consequences of her sin? That, however, is the attitude of America! Let’s sin but I don’t want to have to pay the consequences so I’ll blameshift, kill do whatever it takes to keep from paying the price! How sad!
