Tackling, leg-dropping, punching, choking, and kicking ladies in the face: Todd Bentley’s new way of healing.

Uh, yeah. There’s Biblical precedence for this in the Scriptures. Right.

How come when these serpents tell of great healings which can be seen visually (raising the dead, limbs growing, tumors falling off people, etc.) there’s never a camera around to capture it? And why wasn’t there a camera around when he was beating these people to better health?

There was when he battered this guy.

  1. I watched him the other night kick someone in the stomach. Devoid of the grace of God, if any “healing preacher” lifted his hand in violence towards me, he’d be on the receiving end of a lawsuit…

  2. if any “healing preacher” lifted his hand in violence towards me, he’d be on the receiving end of a lawsuit…

I heard that! Either that, or he’d be the one needing healing after I got done “laying my hands on him” :)

  3. BTW I did a little reading and it turns out Bentley isn’t the first to get a little physical in his spiritual warfare…a man called Smith Wigglesworth was known to beat up dead corpses to resurrect them.

I guess foolishness is as transferrable as Bentley’s powers

  4. Greetings all,

    You guys got me tickled…

This Bentley oddball is just too funny. Maybe he is a hybrid between Benny Hinn and The Three Stooges? You know, the Curly Shuffle with a Healing Upper-Cut to the snout…..I enjoy watching him; he makes me laugh a lot. Hey, perhaps a new addition to SNL is born?

I would love to see someone trapping-up to him needing a hemorrhoid healing.

  5. Oh LumpyMeatLoaf, you really made me laugh!…even though I know it is no laughing matter that this guy is deceiving so many. My amazement is that people fall for this stuff. It seems like whatever he says, does is A-OK because he says he loves Jesus. Signs and wonders have to be put to be tested. Are they truly of the Lord? Jesus warned that the delusion would be very strong in the end times, so that makes me leery of all these claims to special powers and ‘anointings’. I have to hold everything up against scripture and what Jesus taught.
I found this video particularly disburbing -the use of violence to heal people?! When did Jesus or the apostles ever heal people in this way? I can’t even imagine Jesus kicking and punching people. Even when he was righteously angry and over turned the money changers’ tables, he never physically assaulted anyone. Good grief, how can people applaud this stuff and think it is of God?

  6. Greetings Rose,

I agree with you 100%. It is not a laughing matter.

I too am just sickened by the arrogance and self-righteousness that some mobs are amening and getting hyped over. They love signs and wonders but they refuse to listen to the Words of God, in the Bible. Not all, but most twist God’s Word by adding their version & vernacular twang to it. They force it to read to their agenda and pleasure instead of the truth. Then they want to argue on how they can perform this and that and receive this and that without humbling themselves to a Sovereign Father. Outdated things such as repentance, prayer, sacraments, obedience and diligence are passé. Most false followers believe that a sacrament is a bag of mint candy!

Rose, I am just perplexed. How can some so-called Christians turn their backs on God’s Word and accept absolute hype? It is bad enough to listen to their madness but look at these derelicts jumping around; some make Charles Manson look like Dick Van Dyke.

    Jesus is Lord

  7. Whatever Bentley has is definitely not of the Lord. Who ever heard of the Lord telling people that to heal them they’ve got to beat them to a pulp! I thought the Bible said we were supposed to love our neighbours and our enemies. That’s not love by beating them up.

    Hmmmmmm….. Let’s see:

Love suffers long and is kind, love doesn’t parade herself, love is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth… Well, I’m trying to see the connection but just haven’t quite made it yet! Give me a few minutes….. Nope, still thinking! Sorry, it’s beyond me how he could even be considered a Christian! Sounds like Satan’s been telling him to do all these things!

  8. He’s going to step to the wrong person one day and get the smackdown of his life!!! I’ll be checking Youtube from time to time. :)

  9. Greetings Carol,

I had to listen and watch to this cat again….You hear it for the first time but sometimes your spirit and mind just can’t soak it all in……. Towards the end, after he says that he pile-drives a Chinese fellow (who tooth flies out), doesn’t he further declare that ‘God’ instructs him to leg-drop a pastor that is on the floor????? Where is that in scripture; I can’t find it or anything similar????

Does anyone know what the guy’s background is???? Did he ever wrestle for the WWE, or perhaps a prison guard or a bouncer…..? I really am curious? I wonder if he has ever used ‘The Iron-Claw’on someone or the ‘Scorpion Death Lock’? Forgive me, I better shut-up, I wouldn’t want to stimulate or influence him with any negative or foolish ideas; surely I wouldn’t want those dancing around in his head…….

  10. I wonder where all of Todd’s defenders are on this post. Could it be that this is obviously indefensible?

  11. What really strikes me as odd, is that not only are none of his defenders here, but the people listening to his stories (lies) are laughing about the whole thing! To me, this seems really odd! So where is the love of God among all this? Todd Bentley obviously has no love for anyone but himself!
