When false teachers collide . . .

. . . one is bound to end up on the floor flopping around like a demon possessed fish-out-of-water.

What happens when a false priest representing the Church of England meets a false prophet representing the church of self?

Bentley ends this spectacle repeating a word over and over again and I can’t help but wonder if he’s prophesying of what he sees in his own future.

  1. He threw that man into a seizure. Is this a good thing?

  2. Is it just me or about :10 into the video it looks like the guy from England is trying to hit the floor a little too early and it’s almost like Bentley’s trying to hold on to him to keep him from starting the act too soon? Then the Egnlish guy does a good job covering up.

“Fire! Fire! Fire! Sulfur! Sulfur! Fire! Sulfur!”

  3. A fish out of water on fire!

4P – guess the “anointing” was just spilling out and splashed on the guy before he knew what hit ‘im!

  4. I did not see anything false going on. You just do not believe the man’s testimony that he got healed, and you do not believe the fire baptism of the holy spirit.

Your unbelief is not proof of falseness.

I do not care for Bently, but God does not need Bently to touch someone.

  5. Where – if anywhere – does the Bible talk about being “baptized with the Holy Ghost in fire?”

  6. What astonishes me so about people like this–and it shouldn’t surprise me, really, knowing that 2nd Timothy says this will happen–but how do people just automatically lap up what these people say, just blindly believing that these “healings” are actually happening? I mean, I could go on TV, say, “I had a tumor in my liver the size of a bowling ball. But when I touched the TV screen while Todd Bentley was preaching, it MAGICALLY got healed!” And nobody would be the wiser. These people would just stare at the TV screen, nod their head in approval, and believe the lie.

For all of you who just accpet these things without question–WAKE UP!!! Don’t just blindly follow these people! You don’t have to be a Pharisee to check these people against Scripture. If they are deceiving you (and they are!!), the eternal price is too steep!

  7. Ministry Addict:

If you even read the Bible, you would know the answer to your own question.

Luk 3:16 John answered, saying unto [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

For those who claim we “accept without question,” that is not true. I have experienced divine healing before, and so did my mother and friend. What is narrow minded to to doubt everything because nothing supernatural ever happens to you, because of unbelief.

    Unbelief is a sin.

There is a difference between normal doubts, which searches out truth, and just negative whining.

  8. I have read Luke 3:16. It says, “he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost AND WITH fire…” Not “IN FIRE.”

You might want to actually think and pray about what you read, before you get so self-righteous.

  9. I understand English. Do you even know what you are saying.?

if you are baptised WITH water…that means you get wet, which is the same as being baptized IN water, since that will get you wet

If someone is baptized, either WITH or IN, they will feel firey hot.

  10. No. You SPEAK and READ English. But it’s pretty obvious you don’t understand it so well. You’re taking a literal interpretation of Luke 3:16? You believe the baptism with the Holy Ghost and with fire means that people will actually get hot – like catch on fire? The way water baptism really gets people wet? Think about what you’re saying.

Better yet, read the verse in context. I’ll help you out a little here: “Context” means “the verses before and after.”

John the Baptist is prophesying about the baptism with the Holy Ghost, AND (not “in”) the “fire” of persecution which will separate true believers from false believers. I’ll help you out again: “Persecution” means “being attacked for your beliefs.”

The Bible does not contain the phrase “baptized with the Holy Ghost IN fire.”

  11. I understand persecution as well. But Fire has several spiritual meanings.

  12. Marianne,

I stated this on another post. However, let me reiterate here.

    ***********

You stated that you have “experienced” divine healing. Let me ask you – Was it instant? Did it last for more than 3 or 4 days and was the healing COMPLETE in every part of your being? In the process of the healing, were you granted forgiveness of sins? Was the elder one of the spiritual leaders in your local church? Was he a man spiritually gifted, qualified according to 1 Timothy 3, and enabled by God for the work of the ministry? (Recommend reading James 5 at this point if you want further clarification!)

Forget about experiences and feelings for just a few moments. Fads come and go as already seen within charismatic circles. Another individual calls themselves a “truth seeker” – Marianne, are you REALLY a truth seeker or is it only truth if it is backed up by YOUR feelings and/or experiences?

TS commented – “if this Revival is God there is no way that I’m missing out.”

BUT, what if is not?!?! How can you trust your feelings? Your feelings and mine are fickle and until the moment of glorification IN HEAVEN will still have to deal with minds and bodies that do not always desire the things of God.

You want the truth, read up on “shaktipat” or “kundalini” and see if the methods used to dupe people in these crusades is not the same thing the evil one uses to trap people in things like yoga, transcendental meditation, and a plethora of eastern mysticism and religions.

If you truly are a truth seeker, you will more importantly go to the Word of God and see if whether what you are seeing matches up with how God works and how God reveals Himself throughout either the Old or New Testament.

By the way, the last time I checked (as a sidenote), the only time I EVER find people calling down fire from heaven was not to show the outpouring (or second blessing) of the Holy Spirit. Fire was seen as judgment from God!!

Please inform us where in the Bible you believe fire has several spiritual meanings and which give true believers the right to call down fire to evidence that they have the Holy Spirit of God in their lives!

Oh, and Marianne, you should check the Word of God and take note that when the Lord Jesus Christ healed, He provided complete healing (not over time), AND granted forgiveness of sins! The most important aspect of those works was that He had granted the person freedom from the bondage of sin, not from the death which must AND will overtake everyone who has ever lived or ever will!

I concluded with this comment (in case you did not read on the other post) — On another note, Bentley can accept anybody coming across his platform like the CofE (Anglican) priest! What a mockery of God’s Word to accept this man as a proclaimer of truth in a religious establishment that demeans marriage, accepts homosexuality and lesbianism as simply alternative lifestyles, and is run by a practicing Druid?????

Disgusted with the mockery of God,
    The Desert Pastor

  13. Desert Pastor

It was 3 am. I was alone. I was having a gall bladder attack. I was violently vomiting into the toilet. My blood pressure was high, and I was in extreme pain, I almost passed out. It felt like a knife had cut open my abdomen. I prayed for healing during the vomit “heaves” and was delivered within about 10 minutes.

I went to the hospital afterwards (help did not come until later) for follow up, to have myself further checked, but not before I ate something greasy in an act of faith. I was fine. I did not need forgiveness of my sins. I was already saved and right with God.

My mother had a collapsed lung. Easy to see on x ray. She was healed and the repeat X rays back this up.

I had a friend with a damaged spine I brought to a prayer meeting. She was scheduled to have a pole put up her back, so yes, she had medical records. She was in great pain. She was instantaneously healed at the meeting, and no “qualified” man laid hands on her. She did not need this. God did this Himself. I was sitting beside her and I am a witness to the whole thing. It is 7 years later. She is completely healed, with medical records to prove it.

Both ailments were real, and no, there was no relapse.

Many ministers think they are “qualified” but most aren’t. They just do not have the faith or the purity of spirit to do as the apostles did. But for us, we all got healed without their help, because God acted directly on our behalf.

The truth of God is endless. God says to seek Him. Sorry you think you know it all.

  14. Greetings to all,

Marianne, you said, “I did not need forgiveness of my sins. I was already saved and right with God.”

I am neither picking on you nor do I wish ill-will on you, but I have heard this before. My son’s mother-in-law is a no make-up, hair–in-the bun, old time Pentecostal that prefers experience and wonders over the Word of God. She was having a problem with some such thing, and I suggested that perhaps you might want to repent of any sins and pray; asking Lord Jesus for the answer(s). She replied, “Oh no, oh no, don’t you ever say that I am a sinner! Because, ‘I am saved therefore I am not a sinner and because I am not a sinner then therefore I am saved.” I informed her of St. Paul, Romans chapter 7, whereas St. Paul said, “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.” I further informed her that this is a form of circular logic, and yes, we all sin and miss the mark. She replied, “I am the righteousness of God and he sees what I am and the things that I do.” I informed her that only through the blood of Christ Jesus are we saved and the Father looks at us through Jesus. I further depicted that we all deserve hell and we can’t be self-reliant or self-righteous. I told her to read the 1 John 8-10 whereas it says, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us”.

I also educated this lady that yes, as Christians; we can be turned over to Satan for your sins….. St Paul informs Timothy, “Cling tightly to your faith in Christ and always keep your conscience clear, doing what you know is right. For some people have disobeyed their consciences and have deliberately done what they knew was wrong. It isn’t surprising that soon they lost their faith in Christ after defying God like that. Hymenaeus and Alexander are two examples of this. I had to give them over to Satan to punish them until they could learn not to bring shame to the name of Christ.

Besides, if any of us is so self-reliant & righteous then why was Hebrew 7:24-25 written? But Jesus lives forever and continues to be a Priest so that no one else is needed. He is able to save completely all who come to God through him. Since he will live forever, he will always be there to remind God that he has paid for their sins with his blood. So, why does Jesus mediate for us continuously, if we are all that, within ourselves?

    Jesus is Lord

  15. Lumpy meat:

Do you spend all your time questioning other people’s salvation?

there is a difference between committing a sin one is forgiven for already, because one has a loving relationship with the Lord

    and

a sinful lifestyle that requires repentance.

Obviously, if God healed me, I had his favor.

    marianne

  16. I really don’t just their self-righteousness.

  17. Lumpy

There is nothing self righteous about me. I said God healed me. There is nothing self righteous about that.

Maybe he has not healed you, or helped you and you are jealous.

God loves me and helps me all the time. He is first in my life.

  18. That is your assertion, on both accounts, which only you can offer. I never seen your illness, it could be psychosomatic, and as far as I am concerned; maybe you were and maybe you weren’t. You are correct there is nothing self-righteous about healing. Jesus can heal anyone he wants anytime. However, my concern with you from the get-go is your claim of being sin free and not needing prayer and repentance in conjunction for healing, and that too is self-righteousness. So do you bother to pray at all? Someone needs to cut your anchor free so you can go ahead and drift into God’s presents; why who needs Jesus? Look friend, like it or not we all sin each and everyday by thought or deed; or perhaps are we greater than the Apostles or just people under grace? Let me ask you a question or two, since you evidentially don’t fully buy-off on the belief that prayer and repentance from sins is needed for healing. 1. Did Jesus tell the just healed to go forth and sin no more? 2. Did Jesus instruct his disciples in the Lord’s Prayer, to pray daily, “Give us our food again today, as usual, and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us? Perhaps Jesus was double-dealing or just teasing around?

Now you are saying that maybe he hasn’t healed me and perhaps I am jealous? Surely, you don’t have a crystal ball too, tea-leaves and eye of bullfrogs? God is not a respecter of some and not others. So please don’t try to use that AOG hocus-pocus on me……I spent too many years in the WOF charismatic none-sense. It is all smoke and mirrors totally unbiblical. The gifts all died away about 70 AD with the death of the real Apostles. If you believe that all this is true then ask yourself have I ever really seen anyone raised from the dead, much less the other so-called miracles and wonders for toady?

    Jesus is Lord

  19. Lunpy,

I find your attacks demonic. You are not a Christian. I never said I was sin free. I was any sins were forgiven. You are expressing a religious spirit, and you can claim superiority to me all you want, but you do not act saved. It does not matter if you claim “Jesus is Lord” to make you look good.

Repent, and get forgiven yourself, before you lurch around, spreading condemnation everywhere you go. Take your demonic accusations elsewhere.

  20. Marianne, you said, “I did not need forgiveness of my sins”…….. You must have amnesia…..
You are the one attacking me, didn’t You judged that I am jealous, not healed, need help and now not a Christian! I have providing you biblical scripture; exactly what Jesus, and Paul depicted. You only provided a healing, which can’t be proved by evidence or documentation. A healing without prayer or repentance, by your own words. It seems that every Reformer on this blog is wrong and you are correct by your experiences and feelings. If I am not mistaken you had words with Fourpointer, Desert Pastor and Ministry Addict, not to include myself. Also you are sadly mistaken, I never mentioned anyone losing their salvation when I wrote you the first time. I was trying to provide you scripture that St Paul too had problems with sin, like all of us. But like some of the others in this very blog, I have to agree you do have a problem with English or perhaps men…. By the way, I am not going anywhere unless the asked to by the team. You are in a Reform blog maybe you need to seek; experiences and signs blog elsewhere? If anyone needs to repent it is you, sister.

    Jesus is Lord

  21. Do you understand the word “forgiveness?” When the sin is forgiven, it is gone. God does not hang it over your head forever, like people do.

I am forgiven. Get the point.

Yes, there are several negative people here to contend with.

Unless you experience forgiveness, you will not understand the freedom that brings in the spirit. One no longer has a desire to sin. And if one happens to err, then one just repents, and has confidence in that continued forgiveness. Scripture says God will make our sins, which are scarlet, as white as snow.

Forgiven. Look it up and see what it means.

You call my testimony a lie, because you are full of unbelief anyhow. My testimony is true. But you expect me to accept what you say about yourself as truth, when you falsely accuse people. You attack people unfairly. I have not seen the love of Christ yet here. Maybe the blog is mislabeled. Instead of rejoicing that God healed me, you stick your nose up at me.

  22. Marianne,

Have you ever taken time to read how you write to others???? Maybe your approach adds to one’s belief that you are haughty and self-righteous… You talk down to people, I have dealt with that all my life, from people like you. I thought, I would just point out a weakness, God knows you are willing to castigate others.

We have nothing really to talk about, you and I are at our end. I would like to clear up your last negative comments. I never said that your healing was a lie. Sadly, you are making up false accusations against me. Allow me recall to you exactly what I said word for word,(blog #18)”That is your assertion, on both accounts, which only you can offer. I never seen your illness, it could be psychosomatic, and as far as I am concerned; maybe you were and maybe you weren’t.” Allow me to translate, ‘That is your story, and account, which only you can give. I never seen your illness, it could be from one’s imagination as far as I would know, not being there, so maybe you were or maybe not’…So, therefore, I don’t know you from a can of paint, you could be Satan’s sister, I only trust in the Word of God.’

Secondly, I never stuck my nose at your healing, again you are making another false accusations, as a matter of fact your amnesia is acting up again. Again I said word for word(blog 18),”You are correct there is nothing self-righteous about healing. Jesus can heal anyone he wants anytime”. You must have missed that too?????

I understand forgiven;you don’t have to be mean spirited. I get your point. Jesus, remember him he said, for us to pray daily to ask for forgiveness and to forgive others(Lord’s Prayer); do you understand???????

Yes, these mean old Reformers on this blog, that are just religious fanatics and are really negative. Especially, when people don’t go along with the Word of God….Maybe too they should throw away their Bibles and follow signs and wonders?????

You have made numerous false accusation and innuendos against me. Then so be it,I believe what is written will stay written. I will let Jesus judge between us.

We have nothing else to discuss. I will pray for you and I hope you find peace. May I suggest that you obtain a good study Bible. The MacArthur study bible in NASB would serve you proudly.

    Jesus is Lord

  23. Lumpy,
you are lying. You expressed doubt at my healing because you saw no “proof.” You could not believe it was a real illness, but rather psychosomatic.

you have a religious spirit, and you are the false accuser, not me. You attack everything positive. Even Jesus gave up on people like you, so I will too.

  24. Marianne,

There you go again, name calling making false accusations. Each time you write something it is full of accusation and twist. If one is lying it certainly is you over and over.

Can’t you read English? Try to reread the opening of blog #18, if you can, which I have my doubts. I have a degree in psychology and therefore I sometimes use terms in that field. Don’t take my word in ‘Thesaurus Dictionary’ Psychosomatic,is a term that means “emotion”. You just don’t or can’t believe your own eyes. You have a disturbed spirit and need immediate deliverance. God provided the Bible as tangible evidence, 66 Books, over 40 authors and 1500 years to create as documentation to give man as guidance and proof. All I hear from you is accusations, names and name calling. So I am going to take you at face value, as proof? As I said I was not there, therefore maybe you were or maybe you weren’t. That honey means I don’t know (saavy)?????? I wasn’t there!!!! Don’t you saavy? I have pointed out exactly what was said, and you have tried to twist what was said. I am relieved to be away from you, so I would like to dust off my sandals from your gross ignorance. Please consider seeking medical attention for your anger issues and pray for a godly healing, to bring you peace.

    Jesus is Lord

  25. Hi Mirianne,
I don’t question your healing. You know alone. I have been in the healing ministry a number of years and have seen many healed with the laying of hands, etc.
I was in the new age before I was saved. I also saw healings when I laid my very own hands on people. Now I have studied what is going on in Lakeland and see the same thing happening as in a Hindu healing session.
The thing is, to look at the healing take place whether from Jesus or from the devil looks the same. Think of when Moses stood before Pharoah and through the staff on the ground. Then the two magicians through their staffs on the ground. All produced serpents. It is only because we know who Moses is that we understand which is of God and which is of the devil. The same happened with the turning of the river to blood and the plague of frogs.
We are in the last days when God sends a great dillusion. Even fire will be called down from heaven by those of the devil, not by those of God. Whilst that will be an impressive sight, it is not of God. Why does God allow this to happen – so the sheep will be separated from the goats. Those who will follow the Lord and those who wont. Those who willingly stay blind.
What will keep us aware of what is of God and what is a counterfit – the truth. It is why the bible says the truth will set you free and in 2 Thes 2:9 – 12, those who fall for the power sign and lying wonders of the devil perish because they do not receive the love of the truth.
It is a big subject and at this time, a really important one. I have read some of the questions and answers of those who have replied to your writings and there is truth in what they say. There is also truth in what you are saying. Please look into this in depth. Spend time in the word and prayerfully ask the Lord to show you his truth, and reveal any deception.

I repented of the false healing that I was involved in and now I pray for peoples deliverance. Guess what, when someone repents and forgives those they need to, healing comes instantly and it is permanent.
Whether the Lord healed you and those you know, I cannnot say because I was not there. I just ask that you be aware that there is untruth and powerful deception abounding now and that is happening in Lakeland. NO doubt about it.

Blessings to you in the name of Yeshua
