2 Corinthians 11:13-15, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”
There are many, many things wrong with what is seen and heard in this video. You will notice there is NO Scripture being used – it is ALL based on his experiences, his feelings, his lack of true Biblical knowledge, his lack of the true indwelling Spirit of the Holy God!
In case, there was any doubt in anybody’s mind, Todd Bentley is a pawn of his master, the evil one. The Holy God of Israel DOES NOT work in the way this charlatan says he does. The purpose of this blog is to not only bring encouragement to the true believers in Christ, but also to warn when heretical false teachers make appearances seeking ONLY to fleece the flock.
2 Timothy 4:1-4, “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
Charlatans like this man make a living because there are not enough Christians who are willing to be Berean Christians and study the Scriptures for themselves to see whether the things being reported or taught are of God or from the evil one!
Thanks to IMSpeakingTruth for posting this video and warning others.
Studying NOT to be Ashamed!
The Desert Pastor
“The two rooms above us burned to the ground, for real.” And witnesses reported the smell of sulphur accompanying the fire.
Wow, what a huckster! I guess the best way to make a quick buck these days is to invent some cockamamie story about fire and angels to tell a group of naive, undiscerning, undisciplined “church” members, shake them down for their money, then move on. Sheesh!
He said that God was talking to him and desired truth in the inward parts! Todd Bentley already lied to himself so the truth couldn’t come out! People fall for this nonsense because 1.) They are not grounded in the Word, and/or 2.) They are not interested in hearing the truth because they don’t want accountability! Everyone has their own ‘truth’ that really isn’t truth but a lie sent straight from the pits of hell. One day, these false prophets will answer to God for their false teaching and I really would hate to be them!
I just want to say thankyou so much for this website. It has proven to be such a blessing in my life and i thankyou for the work you do in proiding true, biblically sound doctrine and exposing lies for what they are.
I cannot believe how many Christians react toward signs and wonders much like a 5 year old child reacts towards candy held out before them.
Todd Bentley so blatantly talks nonsense and the things that he says have no biblical foundation whatsoever. There is this other guy Sid Roth, who has a tele program….the whole show is based on signs and wonders, and angels and around his neck he has a golden angel necklace! Wheres the cross?? Wheres the gospel? Wheres the call to repent ? Lots of imagination….no Biblical back up. The following verse springs to mind;
Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. Col 2:18
We got to pray for such people though and hope that God will bring them to repentance.
“And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”
2 Timothy 2:24-26
Amen, GiGi, on II Timothy 2:24-26. There seems to be a principle in Scripture for Godly teachers not to get involved with doting about questions and strifes of words. I Timothy 6:4-5.
Like my friend from Atlanta used to say when he was us here in London, “I knows a heretic when he opens his mouth”. Somehow Bentley fits the crime perfectly.
I thought it was a bit telling when he betrayed himself for an instant in saying “I’m tellin ya the truth now” at 1:03. Didn’t last long but the truth of his entire message, as he admits, is:
There ya go, Defcon denizens. You can stop the video at that point. That’s all the truth you’re gonna get.
Lets look at the present day revival in Lakeland Florida that has been going on for 53 straight days where Todd Bentley is preaching….
Thousands are being saved according to the Bible,
Thousands are being healed according to the Bible,
Thousands are being set free from addictions according to the Bible,
if you all had any awareness AT ALL of who God is you would know that the previous descriptions I have listed are not the will of the devil, but rather the will of God.
Please open up your spiritual eyes and be open-minded to the fact that God is moving heavily in Lakeland through Todd and his ministry,
And God is wanting to move through you but so many of you have hardened your hearts to the Holy Spirit.
I’ll even give you an example on how some of you have hardened your hearts to the Holy Spirit…
Question.. How many HOURS a day do you simply soak in the presence of God, praying, and simply listening to the Voice of God??
I would be willing to bet most of you have never spent an hour simply listening to the voice of God not even moving…
Also, how many people have you seen saved or healed on the streets?? Remember… thats how Jesus did it
With Love,
Kevin
Kevin,
So is Todd Bentley going to go into hospitals and use his healing power to raise all the people in the morgue and the ICU? Is he going to go into the burn unit of a children’s hospital and heal those children? Or is the Holy Spirit confined to whatever
concert hallchurch Todd Bentley is “preaching” in?Amen fourpointer,
Kevin the Holy Spirit doesnt need to be given to another person and then passed on to others solely via the touch of that person. You clearly see in Acts the Holy Spirit came upon all of them. It wasn’t just one person…….Todd Bentley claims impartation of the Spirit through the touch of his “left hand” hhhhmmmmm yessss cos thats not hocus pocus is it!? Jesus said “An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” Then he left them and went away.” Matthew 16:4…..so many are going to this thing craving an “experience”. Many go in desperation seeking a miracle but do not receive it..a la Benny Hinn. Last night he also was almost begging people to “sow a seed”….eeehh what!?? I think if u look back at other historical revivals you will see there is little similarities in them and this delusion.
Kevin, do you not realise the scriptures call us to test the spirits? I do not deny the work of the Holy Spirit in miracles. But signs and wonders? Not biblical. I mean gold teeth and magic dust??! Come on….where is that in the Bible?!
One more thing……Jesus said “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.” I dont need to see signs and wonders to know my redeemer lives……and truly I am blessed to have been given faith by God that needs not manifestations to believe. I already have the Holy Spirit who dwells within me……its the only way i get by day by day…in His strength not my own.
You say we Discerning Christians dont soak in the Spirit? Let me tell you something…… i often wrestle with God for more than an hour in prayer in my room…..i often am reduced to tears in both joy that Jesus is Lord and brokeness for the lost…..I wait on the Lord and He comes. He reduces me to tears of Joy and also sadness for the Lost. Thats what the Holy Spirit does to me….in my own room….behind closed doors…just me and Him. So dont try and say we shut out the Spirit brother Kevin. Discernment is a gift of the Spirit……maybe you need to pray for that rather than for more signs and wonders…
just a thought.
My Jesus is not a Disneyland Jesus…….. he is the risen Lord through pain and suffering or joy and and happiness. Through the miraculous or the perceived “mundane”.
Much Love
Gi-Gi
So what do you expect the people who are being healed think? That the ‘devil’ healed them?
How many of you have watched the Revival night after night? How many of you have sought after God on this matter? Have you no faith?????? Why don’t you all get off your high horses, go to Florida and let God touch you.
So stop sitting in your lounge rooms or in front of you computers whinging about Todd Bentley. YOU DON’T KNOW EVEN THE MAN. You’ve never met him, you’re obviously not participating in the Revival so therefore you have NO RIGHT to judge.
By judging Todd you are judding God himself. He chose this insignificant man to lead this Revival. Perhaps your jealous? Get over it.
If you want to miss out on one of the greatest ‘God-thing’ that you might ever see in your lifetime then thats your problem. Just stop putting down a good man…
“By judging Todd you are judging God himself!”
The Hebrew language has a wonderful word to describe this statement – HOGWASH! (Or maybe it was bologna!)
I hope I am NEVER jealous of a wolf in sheep’s clothing who seeks to milk true children of God by his purported miracles that with enough hype, ungodly music, and working up of the crowd can produce results that might last through the euphoria of the moment for a few days! This is proven medical science.
There have never been any PROVEN miracles by any of these Word of Faith hucksters. Again, if he CAN do these things, maybe he should go to the morgue and to the hospital to truly show off his talents – oh wait, sorry those people can’t pay him for his sideshows can they?
The greatest “God-thing” was when the Lord Jesus Christ put aside His glory and made Himself of no reputation, paid the penalty for our sins so that we would not have to face the wrath of God! By the way, none of the true apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ ever put themselves on such a high level like Shyster Bentley is doing.
2 Cor. 11:13-15, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”
Staying true to God’s Word,
The Desert Pastor
Truth Seeker wrote, “If you want to miss out on one of the greatest ‘God-thing’ that you might ever see in your lifetime then thats your problem.”
Isn’t that the same thing they said in the 1990’s during the Brownville “revival” and other false revivals of that decade? Besides more money in the pockets of the Pulpit Pimps, what did those “revivals” lead to? Seriously.
If the Lord delays, expect that this Bentley “revival” will also come to an end and then in the year 2032 “the next big thing” will come again and the Charismaniacs will be saying, “If you want to miss out on one of the greatest ‘God-thing’ that you might ever see in your lifetime then thats your problem.”
Another observation: Many challenge these “faith healers” for not raising the dead. What I really want to see is where all these people are exactly one year from today. All these people “healed” of cancer, alcoholism, drug abuse, lust, etc. You notice these hucksters always keep you busy with your eyes focused on today, never wanting you to see the miles of wreckage of human life left in the wake of the last big “God-Thing.”
When will this recycled circus end?
- The Pilgrim
Greetings to all,
P.T. Barnum that said, “There’s a sucker born every minute” is a phrase often credited to P.T. Barnum (1810 – 1891), an American showman? It is generally taken to mean that there are (and always will be) a lot of gullible people in the world.
Have you guys ever noticed these WOF cats have at least one other thing in common? They seldom mention that Lord Jesus died for our eternal souls, much less giving him praise and glory (amnesia that’s it)!!!! It is all about healing through them, money and power alone! And if you look at the average charismatic members, most have canes, eye-glasses, hearing-aids, and most are dirt poor. The false charismatic WOF gang has used this same tactics for over thirty-years. Here is my combination questions; How come with so many so-called charismatic miracle workers lurking around performing this and that, why are so many so sick and broke? Why do they instruct their victims to speak to their wallets and money will come flowing hand over fist, and the next minute these same cats will ask for large donations? Why don’t they practice what they preach and speak to their own wallets? With a thirty-year head-start over disease and poverty shouldn’t the WOF gangsters be passing out money and real documented healings by the buckets if what they say is true???????
WOF and the Miracle gangsters promote no more than a form of pseudo-christian gambling (daddy needs a pair of shoes), which seriously discredits the true workers of God…. Makes one want to weep….. One-day these shenanigans will end and it will be ‘A dark-day at Blackrock’ for these charlatans.
Jesus is Lord
I really do think that we Christians who have been blessed with the gift of discernment really do need to unite in prayer that our brothers and sisters in Christ who are so gullible and undiscerning in this area might awake to the “wolves” amongst the flock.
On seeing Todd Bentley i immediately took it upon myself to investigate his background and his associates. Clearly Mr Bentley is a prodigy of Bob Jones who is a renound false prophet and was once part of the infamous “Kansas City Prophets”. He is also a cronie of Patricia King of Extreme Prophetic who is also clearly a heretic. To see this without seeking to test is going against the Bibles clear instructions. So i would argue that those Christians who are not discerning or Testing the Spirits are actually not following Gods Instruction as laid out in His Word.
At the end of the day we can’t allow such people to cause tit for tat arguments within the church but we also can’t sit back and let their false teaching lead people away from the one True Jesus Christ.
May the Lord intervene and cease this delusion.
Keep up the good work DefCon.
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
6If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4-1-8
Well I’d like to swing a few questions your way…
Have you been to the Florida meetings yourself? Have you seen it with your own eyes?
So you say that its the Devil who is healing these people…How can you blame this on the Devil? The Devil would NEVER do anything to bring glory to Jesus.
“Ungodly Music” – How can you even say that? The worship team is glorify & leading others into His presence night after night & all you can ‘Ungodly Music”. How old are you?
All I am saying is that if this Revival is God there is no way that I’m missing out.
Truth Seeker
Truth Seeker,
Forget about experiences and feelings for just a few moments. Fads come and go as already seen within charismatic circles. You say you are a “truth seeker” – Are you REALLY a truth seeker or is it only truth if it is backed up by YOUR feelings and/or experiences?
Your final statement speaks volumes – “if this Revival is God there is no way that I’m missing out.” What if is not?!?! How can you trust your feelings? Your feelings and mine are fickle and until the moment of glorification IN HEAVEN will still have to deal with minds and bodies that do not always desire the things of God.
How can I say “ungodly music” because I am old enough to have been around the block a few times and have seen AND heard the style and format of repetitious mantras used to work people into unnatural hyped up states of ecstacy. I have seen and watched these revivals come and go for well over 20 years serving in the ministry.
Sadly, most so-called “revivals” and “movements of God” are all the same – carnival sideshows run by charlatans looking for a quick buck!
You want the truth, read up on “shaktipat” or “kundalini” and see if the methods used to dupe people in these crusades is not the same thing the evil one uses to trap people in things like yoga, transcendental meditation, and a plethora of eastern mysticism and religions.
If you truly are a truth seeker, you will more importantly go to the Word of God and see if whether what you are seeing matches up with how God works and how God reveals Himself throughout either the Old or New Testament.
By the way, the last time I checked (as a sidenote), the only time I EVER find people calling down fire from heaven was not to show the outpouring (or second blessing) of the Holy Spirit. Fire was seen as judgment from God!!
On another note, Bentley can accept anybody coming across his platform like the CofE (Anglican) priest! What a mockery of God’s Word to accept this man as a proclaimer of truth in a religious establishment that demeans marriage, accepts homosexuality and lesbianism as simply alternative lifestyles, and is run by a practicing Druid?????
Disgusted with the mockery of God,
The Desert Pastor
How sad! People still falling for Satan’s tricks because they refuse to read God’s Word and seek wisdom from the Lord. I guess it’s a matter of let the blind follow the blind and they’ll both fall into the ditch.
I was in the charismatic circles for years. One’s age and experience means nothing…. I have heard false prophets say that one has to be a believer for at least seven years before they are credible. St. Paul went from killing Christians to preaching the Word in two weeks…. Discernment is a gift from God for any age of His choosing; not facial hair.
Honestly, truth be known feelings, emotions and wanting one’s hhhaaaiiirrrr to stand-up are the things for charismatic followers, along with the end result that empowers the gullible and normally restrained, which gives them a means and a place to-do-their-thing; usually with applauds and attention. Where else can they do these things? This is the only show in town where one can be and go all out nuts in ‘substantial company’; like a drunk one can always claim they weren’t the one in control! When I was active with the charismatic three-ring circus three things attracted me to their services; (1.) I like the Christian rock concerts; I mean pumped-up (2.) The ladies dancing provocatively all over the place surely didn’t run to many men out the door. Some really let their hhhaaaaiiirrrr down and not one lady was corrected for appearance or by their actions. (3.) The dramatics and power show, which depicted how the ‘Power’ could be manipulated(wanting some)….
Doctrine (God’s Word) is not important to these people, and don’t say it is, because I have had numerous charismatic female followers to tell me this foolishness to my face, whereas the men would still be talking about the ladies…. With these folks it all my feelings, my power, my needs, my healing, my blessings, and my prosperity; just fireworks; bang and smoke with little tangible substance. There are exceptions but overall, in my opinion, the biblical knowledge of God’s Word, which is engrained within the average follower, is way below par, and that is why they are so easy to reel in.
Please see http://www.toddbentley.org
let me know if there is anything else you want added to it.
Read 1 Timothy 4, God’s Word already prepares us for false prophets. Continuously pray and ask for the discernment of unclean spirits in order to not be led away. Remember, Satan can appear as anything, even an “angel of light”.
Truth seeker has said as follows:
“How many of you have watched the Revival night after night? How many of you have sought after God on this matter? Have you no faith?????? Why don’t you all get off your high horses, go to Florida and let God touch you”.
My comments:
We are not supposed to watch any revival movement in our midst. We are supposed to preach the gospel in all nations; to deny ourselves, take up our crosses and follow our Lord Jesus Christ. Do you want us to seek after God on the matter of gathering of people in the Name of Jesus Christ? We have to seek after God for more holiness and righteousness in our lives. “Have no faith?” We are supposed to trust Jesus Christ for our salvation, and not to trust in any preacher for salvation. Faith comes on hearing the Word of God and not on seeing some miracles or signs.
We need not go to any places like Florida, for God to touch us. The Father has sent the Holy Spirit to touch us. The Holy Spirit is omnipotent and omnipresent. He dwells in you. He is Immanuel, God with us. He is not confined to any place on this earth.

“Reaching the World with His Word” Mark 16:15-20
Avoiding Deception in the Last Days
1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron. 1 Timothy 4:1-2
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 2 Peter 2:1-3
As we read the two above scriptures we see the Holy Ghost through Paul warning the church about end time deception that will come via demons working through false teachers and prophets. Peter says these false prophets and teachers will even bring in secretly destructive heresies. The Strong’s Concordance definition of the Greek word translated destructive in the NKJV means:
1. destroying, utter destruction
A. of vessels
2. a perishing, ruin, destruction
A. of money
B. the destruction which consists of eternal misery in hell.
Notice that this destructive heresy can lead one to the path of hell if adhered to.
Another way that both Paul and Peter say that these false prophets and teachers will deceive is through deceptive words. They will lie while teaching, preaching and prophesying.
According to Jesus and Paul these false prophets and teachers will have great signs and wonders. (Mathew 24:24; 2 Timothy 3:1-9) Pay particular attention to verse 8 which mentions that these false teachers will have the spirit of Jannes and Jambres who were sorcerers and opposed Moses. (Exodus 7)
2 Timothy 3:13 says that evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse. According to Greek scholars the word seducers means sorcerer. That means that some false teachers and prophets in the last days will have great signs and wonders following them but it won’t be from God. They are designed to deceive the elect. (Matthew 24:24; 2 Thessalonians 2:9; Revelation 13)
We should not try to discern if a man’s ministry is of God by signs and wonders. The devil imitates some of the things God does. Just read Exodus 7.
Here are some biblical ways to determine if someone is false and teaching heresy.
1) Use the Word of God to judge if what is being said and done is coming from God.(Hebrews 5:14; Psalm 138:2; Psalm119:105,130) God will never violate His Word or do anything outside of His Word. My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. Psalm 89:34
2) The Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit that what they are saying is true. (Romans 6:14,16; John 14:23,16:13; 1 John 2:20,27)
3) Matthew 7:15-16 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Jesus said you can recognize false prophets also by their fruit. 1 Thessalonians 5:12 says to know those who labor among you. Take time to check out a person’s ministry and character before you open yourself up to them.
4) If you still are not sure speak with someone in your local church that is in leadership and is mature in the Word of God and ask them
about a man’s ministry.
While no ministry or minister is perfect a good minister will fit the above criteria. He will speak in line with the Word. He will be of Godly
character and will be truthful.
As I see the signs of all that Jesus, Paul and the other writers of the Bible said would be taking place in the last days before His return. It only
shows me that we are very close to the coming of the Lord. Let us finish the race and obtain our eternal reward. (Mathew 24; Mark 13;
Luke 21; Revelation 22:12-15)
8 Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. 18-19 Don’t tolerate people who try to run your life, ordering you to bow and scrape, insisting that you join their obsession with angels and that you seek out visions. They’re a lot of hot air, that’s all they are. They’re completely out of touch with the source of life, Christ, who puts us together in one piece, whose very breath and blood flow through us. He is the Head and we are the body. We can grow up healthy in God only as he nourishes us. Colossians 2:8,18-19 (The Message Bible
I have been a Pentecostal for 23 years. I have experienced all the spiritual gifts and a very deep sense of the presence of God. But I am thankful for my Baptist experience in the first few years following my salvation, for I was taught to study to shew myself approved. I am grounded in the Word. While I wish some denominations were more open to the gifts and worship that leads one into a deep presence of God, (& enjoying the cleansing that occurs in that realm) I also wish that Pentecostals would study the scriptures. Because many of them don’t, they are led by emotions into every wind of doctrine. I have grieved over the focus on manefestations, instead of letting the Holy Spirit purify our hearts and guide us into holy lives. The work Christ does in my heart is a greater miracle than any physical thing He has done for me, (and yes, I truly have experienced miracles.) It is a dark hour for the world, where demonic spirits abound, and spirituality is so defined by signs and wonders that it is easy for the enemy to counterfeit God. Satan will gladly misquote scripture to Christ, Himself, in an effort to thwart God’s plan. Wake up, Bride of Christ and make sure you have oil. Find out what this means, but don’t let some man tell you. Seek the wisdom of God for yourselves. Like the children of Israel, we lazily tell Moses to go up to the mountain of God and tell us what God has to say, rather than go hear God for ourselves. We want a flesh king like all the other nations, when we already have access to the King of Kings. This is why we are deceived and drawn to a man or a ministry. How foolish, when we have access to the very throne of the Almighty! Well, if God’s men of the hour are walking in weath and physical blessings, then I guess Paul and Peter and John and the others were false teachers, because they suffered poverty, loneliness and death or exile. People like Todd Bently do not measure up to the true servants of God, His martyrs, in my book– that is the Bible. Those who have truly laid down their lives and suffered for Jesus, those are my heros.
I wish people would start using the mind God gave them, instead of just parroting lines they have learned from the false teachers. We supposedly have “God in a box”,are “jezebels”,Pharisees, blasphemers of the Holy Ghost, are judgemental, closed minded…its tiresome. We are trying to warn you about what should already be obvious,Todd Bentley is a blatant heretic.Seeing and speaking the truth does not make us “heretic hunteres’,on second thought,I guess it does, and its about time someone exposed the blasphemous heresy going on today.Would you be willing to swallow poison,as long as it tasted sweet?Herectical teachings are spiritual poison.
TO ALL THOSE OUT THERE WHO DARE SPEAK THE TRUTH,I COMMEND YOU.KEEP TELLING IT LIKE IT IS,EVEN IF MANY DO NOT BELIEVE YOU.JESUS WAS REJECTED,TOO.SOMEDAY,MANY OF THOSE DECIEVED NOW,WILL LOOK BACK AND THANK JESUS THAT SOMEONE SPOKE THE TRUTH TO THEM. I recently wrote a letter to a Baptist minister who warned me many years ago that Benny Hinn was a charlatan. At the time I laughed at what he said,I thought he was ignorant of the works of the Holy Spirit.I thought Hinn was a great man of God. A couple of weeks ago,I wrote to my old Baptist minister and thanked him for telling me the truth back then, even though it took me many years to see that he was absolutely right.I wish I had listened to him back then.I assure you,I am no longer laughing, but weeping at the sickening heresies that pass themselves off as Christianity today. Thanks again to Rev.Andy.
i am deeply upset to the fact that people that i have looked up to as being mature in the Lord have so quickly been lead astray by all of the signs and wonders of todd bently. from the very first time i heard his name my spirit did not bear witness to his ; but then after seeing one of his “shows” i was literaly sick by what i saw. i have since then gone and spoken with my pastor and shared my concerns ; only to be told that it is not his responsibility to tell people who they can and can’t watch or follow , but i disagree and don’t know what to do? i pray daily that peoples eyes will only be opened to the truth and not to emotions. please pray for me , as have some big decisions to make..
love in christ,
endless tears
Well after reading all these posts and doing a bit of research myself on Todd, it really is hard to come to a conclusion. I’ve spoken to several people about his teachings and of the main responses I get are ‘if the fruit is good then it is from God.’ I don’t even live in the States so obviously I’ve never been to one of his teachings. I will be honest I don’t spend as much time with God as I should, and therefore my discernment on these types is questionable…but from what I’ve seen from clips and read, he is giving way to much limelight and glory to things like angels etc than to God himself. What will always stick in my mind is that Satan is a master deceiver and will try anything to fool us into walking his path, even if it means disguising himself as a man of God. I mean what better way to fool his enemy.
My conclusion is that if you have a really close relationship with God, meditate on this and ask for His guidance. The Holy Spirit will warn you and you will know immediately if this man is from God or not. The thing is Christians are looking for a change in this world, and I’ve noticed a lot of us count on others (Todd Bentley) to do the work in which God has assigned to each and everyone of us to carry out. If we are timid and sit back and let others do the work, there will be liars and ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ who will gladly take our place and twist it for their own evil gain. I’m not saying Todd is one of those, but instead of saying ‘whoa, this revival is the next best thing and rushing into it’ I would be more cautious, spend more time with God and go out and be a fisher of men. ‘I can do all things in Christ who strengtheth me’ Philippians 4:13
Dear Quin:
Thank you for your comment.
One needs not “meditate” on this and ask for God’s “guidance” in this matter no more than one needs to “pray” about the Book of Mormon.
Bentley teaches “another Gospel” and therefore is accursed.
Furthermore, Bentley’s fruit was exposed in his extra-marital interests and he subsequently vanished from the scene as quickly as he entered. And now the Charismatics are waiting for their next big thing.
Sincerely
- The Pilgrim
P.S. To read more about Bentley, type in his name in the DefCon search engine. You will find more than enough info to help you discern truth from error.
