Sola Scriptura (45)

bible-page.jpg For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.
- Hebrews 10:26-27

How utterly sad that there are churches and pulpits full of “christians” but yet not true believers at heart! Anybody can say, “Lord, Lord, have we not done ALL of these things in your name.” Yet, He will be required to say to them, “Depart from me, you workers of iniquity for I NEVER knew you!”

To go sinning willfully having full knowledge of the truth brings greater condemnation upon each person who sits in judgment of the heathen who sin in ignorance. When will pastors begin once again to preach that the world remains as sinners in the hands of an angry God who will not let sin go unpunished?

Hell is real! Judgment is coming, and it is coming even to many who sit beside us and around us on comfortable seats every Lord’s Day because of their rank unbelief and disobedience to the Sovereign Lord of the universe and to His Holy Word. Verses like this one in Hebrews should remind us to examine ourselves (our lives, our conduct, our souls) to be sure that we are truly in the faith.

    Saved to obedience,
    The Desert Pastor

    Desert Pastor,

Well said. Its scriptures like this one that almost are never preached on. Pastors stick to preaching love because it doesn’t hurt.

God help us to have a fear of Him.

    God bless.
