Pastor MacArthur (Dr. PhD of Biblical Theology and Dean) has multiple years of advance theological training in scripture, Greek, Hebrew with exegesis knowledge of biblical prophesy, and Christian counseling. He is the Dean of one of a top Baptist seminary in California. He has written, which I believe around 160 books concerning multiple topics within Christianity. Pastor MacArthur is highly respected over the Baptist and Reform ranks, as well continuously engages in addressing members of the Body of Christ with information; such as written, and electronic communications (such as lectures, cd’s and so forth).

Mr. Joel Osteen has admitted he has never received one hour of biblical training nor did he want the position! I never would have guessed? Mr. Osteen admitted on Larry King’s talk show that there are many ways, which a person can receive Jesus and to go to heaven, while talking to King, he did not stand for what is righteous? Mr. Osteen uses pop psychology of positive and negative strokes and the works that resembles Dale Carnegie to spread his smiling beliefs of “Your good and I am good too”, at best. Mr. Osteen is somewhat weak on scripture, which very seldom, will he use a Bible as a reference point but he is strong in ecumenical in belief. Mr. Osteen is an expositor when it comes to the “Prosperity Light” message. He does have a great smile! Good teeth and a pretty wife that has a mean left hook (Just ask the stewardess on the way to Vail Colorado)!

Hmmmm, I wonder who I would listen to? Hmmmm I wonder who is correct Pastor MacArthur or Mr. Osteen.

  2. Adrian Torres says:

I am Adrian Torres, born as a Roman Catholic, I am listening to John teachings, and I read a lot of reflections done by the Osteens, as a believer of Lord Jesus Christ, all I can say is, there is no need to argue regarding who is better to these 2 guys, If these guys have different views so what? as long as they are not saying something bad about our God and all their words will encourage us to move or to be a good creation of God, I will still listen to them, Who amongst us can say confidently to one of these guys “Stop! You are a false teacher, or You are not qualified to explain the word of God”. Remember! Brothers and Sisters, God qualifies the unqualified, like Moses, Paul, David, etc, In 1 CORINTHIANS 1:27 Yet God has chosen what the world considers foolish, to shame the wise; he has chosen what the world considers weak to shame the strong. MAY GOD BE PRAISED!

Remember, both John and Joel cannot say that they pleases God, because only God can judge or can say who are the people that satisfies him

  3. Adrian,

It is very possible to see that Osteen is a false teacher. His words are poison covered in honey. There is no calls for repentence and truth…but rather how we can live our “best life now”. The apostles certainly didnt live their best life now….and neither should we. Of course, we should always rejoice in the Lord and be thankful in all things…but Christians will endure bad times and suffering. We continually groan and long for our true home which is with Christ.

I hope you have come free from the false Roman Catholicism you were “born into” although you can’t be born anything but a sinner. As an adult, I hope you have had your eyes opened to the heresy of the Roman Catholic Church.

God *does* qualify the unqualified…as we are all miserable wretches in and of ourselves…however, our fruit and words should reflect Him…not a prosperity gospel which just feeds the fleshly desires of our sinful hearts.

    Kindly,
    Katy

Adrian, to God it IS a very big deal to preach Another Gospel which is what Osteen does…There’s only ONE Gospel that saves and Osteen has been completely remiss to this Gospel…ASK does Osteen preach 1 Cor.chapter 15??? “According to THIS Gospel you are saved”…

And to have a caviler attitude about it like “So what” is most egregious on your part since it sends people to HELL for all eternity. God thinks it is a very serious matter and we ARE to know what the faith is and we are to contend for the faith. The subject of “false teaching” is VERY SERIOUS…Jude even stresses the importance of it by putting down what he Wanted to talk about to address US of it’s importance and seriousness. Do you not know in the Old Testament what God did to all the people he delivered out of Egypt who DID NOT believe? Do you not know what God will do to Angels? Do you not know in the O.T. what God did to Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns???

These examples are warnings that God takes false teachers and teachings very seriously,,, so seriously that he will judge all who did not preach HIS eternal Gospel of GRACE.. So seriously that he will judge those who omitted sin and preached a cotton candy gospel that never saves anyone.

Jesus even scalded the false teachers in his day and he told us to “beware of false teachers”.. He even said “let NO man deceive you for many will come in my name and deceive many”

    Sincerely in Christ, Linda
